Default Kicking off my eight year!

I bought my car new in August of 2005. Getting ready to enter in to my eight year of ownership. Still at 60k miles and running strong.

Congratulations on the longevity. My 2006 base coupe just turned 117K miles (long commute) and I'm shooting for 300K. I put 245K on my '02 Chysler Sebring Coupe & then gave to my grandson - that car still going strong). I bought the Crossfire in the spring of 2007 brand new for $19,900 in the midst of the Chrysler/Mercedes divorce when they were unloading a group of all black coupes. What a deal. Original CPS (spare in the glove box just in case); original RCM, original brake pads (don't use 'em much). On my 4th set of tires (Vredestein). Replaced spark plugs, valve cover gaskets & leaky power steering pump at 100k; replaced battery this year. My only hiccup was in year #1 when the fan motor was replaced following a TSB & the mechanic mis-wired the unit so the temp went up the faster I drove (fan was blowing backwards don't cha know...). Got that fixed & still purring along. I do carry a Mercedes spare & wheel in the back with some shorter lug nuts -- used it once two years ago. Replaced stereo with a JVC LHX550 for better tunes. All is good.

I got near 280k miles on my 2001 jeep grand Cherokee. No major repairs to engine, tranny or ac unit. All I did was a rebuilt rear because it was leaking at the seals. Around 280k miles the engine was making a loud knocking noise. I didn't want to put a new engine in so I got rid of it.

Congrats on 8 years. Did you ever think you'd keep it that long?

Going on 8 years this November for me, only 19,200 fun miles. This car is going to be around for awhile. Every time I drive it, about once a month is like getting into a new car.

Actually I did. When I first bought it I planned on just driving it. It was my only car. About 2 years into ownership I decided I wanted to keep it forever. Now it is a garage queen. 95 percent of the miles were put on as a daily driver for the first 4 years.

I was hooked from day one. Even got the 7/70 because I suspected that it would be around for awhile. Looks like I should have gotten the 10/100 instead. Still drive mine 3/4 days a week but most runs are fairly short.

I'm coming up on year 5, 210,000 miles with the life time drive train warranty. It just keeps going, change the oil, tires and other routine service items. I plan on keeping it for a long time.

Rory, your 210k gives me great hope for many more years and miles of driving enjoyment. I hit 8 years this past May and have 46k miles on the roadster. She's a summer cruiser, with occasional trips to WI, IL, NY, CT, and as far as FL. Had the SRT6 since 2008, purchased with 8500 miles and now at 22k. Not as many long trips because of gas mileage and comfort.
