Default Crossfire in good company

Back in July I went to my first cruise-in. I think the X-fire held it's own.... everyone seemed to show it as much attention as they did the as-yet-to-be introduced 911 beside it.

Is that the 997?

Boy, don't cars without front number plates just look better?

One of the contractors here has placed a deposit on the new Aston Martin and he is expecting to take delivery sometime during 2005/6.

However, he is aware of the 997 and is considering that instead.

I think if the AM gets a blower, he will go for that, otherwise I am expecting him to turn up in a 997 next year.

Not sure if this thread should be under other cars?!

"other cars"? NAH...this thread is about my X-fire! And it being a hit at the cruise-in. Check out the galleries on the website.....lots of cool cars but none cooler than ours.

Here's another pic....you can't see the Crossfire because it's behind the other cars....but you can see the people poking around it.

no doubt dallas... ive lost the appeal of the older gen. now... because there are so many in michigan... but since im in the dorms... talk about all the students going     ... there was a fire drill so everyone is standing outside of the residence... and I know it was showing off... but a mustang wanted to race me... so I pull threw a crowd of about 500 students with my lights on all blue'd out! Stereo's blastin.... talk about introducing yourself to all the new freshman girls ... the crowd has changed but i feel that WOW factor again!

The main wow's come from the Autocrossing guys! Lots of people comment about my car at the autocrossing meets! I got a HUGE response from the announcer who really enjoyed my new exhaust system Made a reference to the sound of mine and Ted's because Ted launched only two cars behind me!

It's nice to see those old Cadillacs and Lincolns. I love American cars and trucks, followed by British marques: Jaguar, Aston ....

The kids are mostly driving ugly Japanese garbage around here, but I can't blame them as they tend to be cheap on gas and easy to modify.

Not many traditional British marques left in British ownership.

I think it is disappointing to see a Jag or Aston with Ford Ka parts. Even the new Mini is running the Land Rover Discovery floorpan. I suppose it keeps the costs down.

Old models are classics, the newer stuff is just mass-produced in smaller volumes.

The perfect 911 ,it sure takes those Germs a long time to perfect something!

I think the perfect XFire would have a V-8 and a little nicer interior ! DONE.oops needs real grills in front .Done !

I agree, but on a positive note, Jaguar has improved reliability and customer satisfaction through the introduction of Ford electronics and support. Further, Aston Martin now has funds to introduce an "entry-level" Porsche killer.

I'm still miffed that we don't get the Defender 90 (or 110) in the States. It would seem that Ford could tweak one for the North American market; to compete with Hummer. They were only sold here from '95 to '97 and the used vehicle prices on eBay are obscene.

...But on a negative note, they've just announced the closure of the Coventry factory.
