Heated seats
Anyone from the cooler climates tried the heated seats yet? I want to know what gets warm, the Lumbar area (lower back) or the seat area (rump). I tried mine for the first time and my but stayed cold. Trying to see if this is normal operation. Thanx
Just the backs heat up on mine.
There's also no heat in the footwell unless you close off all the dash vents. That sucks and there should be a fix for it but the dealer says that's just the way the car is.

Doesn't get very cold here very often, but right now it's a bit chilly in the Atlanta area (for us southerners, that is) and I've used the heated seats the past couple of days just to see if they worked, and I was impressed. Both the bottom and the back of the driver's seat got warm very quickly. As a matter of fact, I had to put the switch on the low position in a matter of minutes. However, I'm glad to get the info regarding the floor heat, I couldn't figure that one out at all.
I love my heated seats. I live way up in Upper Michigan and I like to ride with the windows down and the seats on. Mine take a while to heat up, but it is the back and the butt and once they do heat up, I have to turn them to low. The heated side mirrors also work great too!
Found the heated seats get warm quickly (within 2 minutes of starting the car and certainly before the heater starts to blow hot) which is the only good thing about starting a 6:30am commute!
Make sure you select the second setting (two lights) and you should notice it heating your backside as well.

Yeah your butt should get warm. They work great. It's 25 degrees here this morning in New Jersey so I definately use them!
I find it wierd that when you turn it on at first, theres 2 lights lit up. After a while I guess they get hot and then it goes to 1 light. I assume that happens to everyone too? Sometimes its annoying because I'm cold and I wish it would just stay on 2 until I change it to 1 myself.

I agree, not having the floor setting is a bummer. I close the upper vents & only get the heat to the floor too. It seems they could have done away with one of the other settings to get a floor only.
I use the heated seats everytime I get into the car. It just feels good. In Southern California it's supposed to be mid to upper 70's today, I will still turn them on to soothe the muscles. Every car I will buy will have them.

I use mine every day at the moment, however the heat stretches the leather. At 7200 miles my drivers seat looks really bad in comparison to the passenger seat which is rarely used.
I've got a cold butt version too. I know it worked fine last winter. I was just wondering if I was getting old-timers disease or if something broke (glad someone else posted this already, that what I was comming in to check on). And, I'm just too lazy to sit on the Pass side long enough to try it there (if I'm in it, I'm behind the wheel
). Will have to make sure that one is working now.
Thanks!
Thanks!
