Default Exhaust

Good evening Folks,
I just purchased a 2004 XF coupe and would like to change the exhaust. Just a little mild for me. I am thinking Flowmaster Super 44. I don't want to go all out with cat backs etc. Just the muffler. I don't know what size the pipe is or the outlet size. Does anyone know the part number for the Flowmaster Super 44 that would fit my car or the pipe sizes? All help greatly appreciated.

I don't know the part # for the Flowmaster, but pretty sure the Flowmasters drone quite a bit on the Crossfire. Try typing in Aftermarket muffler for an N/A in the Google custom search, at the top of the page. There is a ton of threads/posts on this subject. Good luck in your decision.

My choice was Borla - more sound and no drone.

Thanks Steve. Unfortunately the difference in cost is BIG. Aprox $795 for Borla and $93.80 for the Flowmaster. Of course, plus installation. Guess I will just save my pennies and give it more thought. Leaving shortly for CT to bring it home. I don't know how old the battery is so will get that changed first. What do you recommend?
TTYL, heading out.

My battery choice is the AutoCraft Platinum AGM, H6, 760 CCA part # H6-ACM @ Advance Auto Parts.

I got one last year for $157.99 after discounts and core refund. This is a perfect fit for the XF, and save the little white overflow cup mounted on the Varta as it will fit the new battery.

The XF is home in my garage Steve. Very un-eventful 112 mile trip. My son drove it and I followed him. "PRETTY CAR" The TPMS light, which was on went out. How cool is that. As for the exhaust system, I think I am going to wait and shoot for the Borla. I too like the sound of it BUT like I said PRICEY. First things first. Oil, filter and inspection sticker next Thursday. While there I will check the color of the anti-freeze.Then I will look into a battery. OH, it could use new wiper blades, where, what kind etc. Any problem with changing them? Thanks Steve,
Bill T.

Remember:

Oil - Mobil 1 5 - 40
Oil Filter - Mann
Anti freeze - Zerez G-05 and distilled water 50/50 mix
Air filter - I like K&N

Wipers are easy to change - your choice on brand, but get a quality name brand like bosch Icon.

If you like the Borla, but too pricey for you, look into the OBX Racing cat back. ( Chinese Borla copy ).
I have had one on for 2 years, no complaints.

Bosch wiper blades OK. The owners manual says oil is 0W-40 The owner gave me two 5 quart containers of Mobil1 0W-40 I have two Mann filters. Why do you like 5W-40?
Anti Freeze, you mean ZEREX? I also like K&N filters. That is what I had in the Mustang. Thanks,. Heading to bed, been a long day. We left my house at 6:15AM this morning to beat traffic.

Yes, you can - it is located under a cover below the glove box. Mann has a filter for this.

I have a Flowmaster Original 40series on my x-fire. Love the sound of it. Has alittle drone cruising down the highway but nothing terrible i dont think. Ive gotten lots of compliments on it...had it mistaken for a new camaro 2 weeks ago (the person only heard the car and didnt see it).
