Thumbs down Price of Oil Changes

I bought my XF in Virginia and I used to get my oil changes for about $70 dollars with my dealership advantage card but today I picked up my car and the total for an oil change was $130 with my discount per the increase in cost of supplies. Just wandering what others are paying for their oil changes. I think these prices are bs considering it isn't a luxury car and most luxury cars such as BMW and Merc. have cost free maintance for 4 years.

I bring my own oil so it comes out to like $68 or so. If I went to Mercedes dealership and bought no oil, its 89.99 plus tax.

Nine quarts @ about $4.90 and $10.00 for a factory M/B filter. Total: $55.00 and about 25 minutes of your time. Less time than you'd spend getting to the dealer, waiting, time at the cashier, getting your car. And it's a pretty easy job.

$61.00 for oil and filter from Advance Auto Parts and $12.00 for dealership to change. If I used dealer oil and filter it was quoted to be around $100.00. I also called my local Texaco Express Lube. They quoted $27.95 for filter and 5 quarts no matter what kind of car. I guess I will drop by and find out where they're buying oil and filters from. hahaha

If you want to let them put only 2/3 the amount of oil you need, and probably bulk crap 10W30, by all means.

I think it's kind of funny that they didn't even care what kind of car I had and didn't consider that some cars required special oil and filters. They've been in business for a couple of years though I am beginning to wonder how.

Yeah its pricey, mine was covered as a dealer courtesy, however, note that Mercedes-Benz is no longer offering its 4 year 50,000 miles covered maintenance on their new cars.

I get my oil changes free for life from the dealer I bought the car from.
Considering the price of tires, I'm glad to be saving on the oil.
