I think there was a thread on this quite a while ago, but sorry I cant remember what they said it might be. Í seem to remember that it happened with cars with auto tranny´s. Is your´s an auto stick?

I had a similar experience. The car was leaking trasmission fluid. Apparently its a bad design with the gasket, they are on back order but if your dealer says the car is not driveable it will come in 3 days or less. Its not a major repair.

I had a transmission leak at 2800 miles, dealership replaced (2) guide bushing seals on right(passenger)front side of transmission to fix leak.

It was me that posted the thread about this. My car was under 2000 miles when I had my leak. It was pink transmission fluid. I took it to the dealer and they replaced 2 plugs and 2 seals. Not really a big job, but it took two weeks to get the parts in so that was two weeks that they gave me a rental. A Dodge Dakota. That was during the christmas/new years stretch though.

Let me tell you, I got my use out of that truck for two weeks. I took down a tree and about 5 large bushes in my front yard. All total, about 5 truck loads of brush and tree stumps & branches.

Haven't had any problems at all since then.

I just found a tranmission leak on my car. There was a pink oily puddle underneath my car. My car only has 1,369 miles on it. Does the dealer have to drop the transmission in order to fix the leak?

Not sure about the drop of the tranny, but others here have said the problem was bad O rings and easy fix. Unnerving non the less...good luck.

I had the same problem at 2,000 miles. The dealer replaced an "0" ring in the sending unit on the transmission. It took about 2 hours and they didn't have to drop the tranny.

Dealer did not have to drop the tranny, thank GOD! Dealer replaced 2 o-rings, valve, and some plug adapter. Took a few days since dealer did not have the part.

thanks for the replies!
