Question Premium or Regular Gas?????

Okay, so I have a general question. I just bought a new Crossfire last week, quite a jump from the Mustang I had. I haven't had to put gas in it yet. I noticed when you open the fuel door it says PREMIUM FUEL ONLY in big bold letters. How true is this? I'm sure premium helps the car run better, however regular gas is much cheaper. How much damage (if any) will I cause using the cheaper, and old reliable REGULAR gas??? Also, does anyone know if there is a cargo net that can be purchased to put in the trunk? I see some kind of hooks back there, but not sure what they are for.

Thanks!

this has been discussed before, the engine is set up to run off premium gasoline and nothing else, if you want to save the 20 cents a gallon it will come back to you ten fold when you have to replace the catalytic converters from running the wrong type of fuel, always run what the manufacturer suggests or better, never take a step down in order to save pennies.

Premium has more detergents. Low grade fuel can make an unheard engine knock that will catch up to you later. Note my dealer says you can go to mid grade safely if you are at sea level.

All I can say is i put twice during our 4 hurricanes in S. Fla. last year 87 octane and boy my car was HORRIBLE. Terrible idling and a difference in power.
