Default 30,000 Mile Wheel Cleaning

Decided taking the wheels off was the only way to really clean them.....labor of love I guess. Wife thinks I'm nuts? 81 foot pounds....right?

Yes, 81 foot pounds. Sometimes, taking the wheels off is indeed the best way to clean them.

I spend one weekend a year pulling each wheel and cleaning and waxing the rim inside and out. It's a back breaker but worth it to keep them clean. It goes along with waxing the inside of the exhaust outlet.

I only use Meguiars Carnuba on the body. For the rims, I put on a couple coats of TurtleWax paste. A lot cheaper, I can go heavy, and I'm not looking for a mirror shine. It's really there to make it easier to clean off the brake dust, oil, and road dirt from the inside rim.

I paint the inside of the exhaust with G2 caliper paint, it has a hard ceramic like finish that wipes clean without a lot of difficulty.
