Anyone had their hydraulic central locking in the boot go wrong??
My car was at the dealer today to have the Cat Converter issue fixed, all done great. But yesterday I noticed this bulge in the rear boot lid on the inside. Dealer has investigated it and found a burst hydraulic cable for the central locking! All fixed now, just sounded a little odd to me though. Is our central locking run off hydraulics?

I've not put much effort in to selling it to be honest as I'm in the middle of moving house. At the end of March I'll focus on selling it. Until then I'm sticking with it and told my company this and they said OK. Now the car is all fixed etc.. it is ready to go.
This is right from the Xfire Service Manual:
"OPERATION
The power lock system is operated with pneumatic supply lines connected to actuators at each power lock. Locking and unlocking is accomplished when the Body Control Module (BCM) is actuated by the Sentry Key Remote Entry Module (SKREEM). The BCM in turn transmits a signal to the Central Locking Pump/Security System Module via the Controller Area Network (CAN) bus. Then Central Locking Pump/Security System Module incorporates a pump to supply pressure or vacuum and valves which direct the supply via pneumatic supply lines to the power lock system component."
In another section, the manual describes:
"The power lock actuators are controlled by pneumatic supply lines that transfer either vacuum or pressure from the Central Locking Pump/Security System Module to the component through distributors.".
Nowhere, could I find reference to Hydraulic Fluid and such; this sounds like it is air / vacuum transfer in the pneumatic lines.

OK, sounds about right, there was no fluid leaking anywhere from it. Dealer fixed it with a new tube and all back to normal. I didn't realise central locking worked this way!
