Default Thinking of selling the car

I'm considering selling the car.

I like most things about it, but the ones I hate overcome those I like.

I hate the fact that it's SLOW, and the way the ESP doesn't let me have any fun, the soft suspension setting, the poor build quality (early model) and the autostick.

I was considering a Kleeman supercharger but the cost is prohibiting, I'd rather sell it and buy a 2004 350Z or a 2005 Mustang GT.

Those cars have none of the shortcomings of this one.

Which one do you recommend?

Uh read the 350Z forums before you go buying one. They are having lots of tranny failures premature and clutch failures, the 350Z build quality will never match that of a crossfire i could care less if its faster or has a bigger engine thats about it.

I drove a 350 for about a week and I loved everything about it. But I appreciate the comments.

Driving it for a week is like dating Britney Spears for a week. Of course you are going to like it while your riding it. But try living with it every single day. I popped on the 350Z sites and they have much more problems than we could ever think of having. And the Mustang? Please, it's a freakin Ford. I like the way it looks too, but would never give up my world class and unique Crossfire. Unless you are just graduating from high school don't even compare the Mustang to the CF.

I agree all the 350Z has is more power that's it. The quality is bad all over. Whereas the XFire might suffer from a few cheap interior trim pieces the 350Z suffers from that in a lot more places.

This is sooo funny that the XFire has 215hp and 229 torque @ 3,000 rpms. I know these figures could be a bit better however Magazines and people are stating "GIVE CAR MORE POWER" "CAR NEEDS MORE POWER" it has enough to get the job done what are they talking about.

Maybe if the car came with 170 hp V6 and 180 lbs of torque then the 215 hp and 229 of torque would be a big power improvement right?

I mean people are only happy with their power until they become used to it, where they start wanting more. On the 350Z forums all you see is people wanting superchargers, and turbo installations and exhaust improvements and chips and blah blah blah cuz they feel their car needs them, hello 287 hp and 274 or torque what do they want, 500 hp?????????

If you want a faster car i believe buy that car from the get go, dont try and sit and make a damn Focus a Corvette or a Crossfire a Ferrari, appreciate the car for what it is. A few performance upgrades are a nice touch yes, but for those who want blinding speed with the XFire, go and buy an SRT6 or something else in that category and you'll be happy for say 2 months till you want something faster. Just my 2 cents on this subject.

What is the Crossfire then?

From my view, it's a poser, it has the looks but nothing to back it up.

It's the perfect car for the middle aged man going through a crisis, it looks good but it's soft, comfy, SLOW, and the ESP is calibrated for grandmothers. I'm only 27, I need a little more adrenaline in my car, something that forces me to be aware while driving it, in this car I fall asleep.

If you want that in car, that's fine, I just bought it for the looks, and that was my mistake.

I do want a faster car, you have to understand that this is my first naturally aspirated car in a city where the altitude is high as hell, that robs what little power the engine makes.

I hate being beaten in every road by every other single car, no matter the brand or model.

I know the Mustang is a Ford, but it's a damn good one at that, it even made the Car & Driver 10 Best list which our car never will, do you really think a yee old Benz with a Chrysler badge (not a great thing) is better than a brand new Ford? I'm not so sure.

Price wise all bets are on the Mustang so far.

If you're tired of losing races, don't screw around with wannabe's. Get the hammer. Find yourself a nice, used Viper (93-95 RT/10's are in low $30's, 96-00 GTS low $40's) and you won't be coming in second.

listen if you think that the XFire is better than a FORD you are WAY WRONG.

And everyday is not a race, if you are looking into racing everything on the road no matter what brand then you should reconsider and become a NASCAR driver.

The car is not slow, I have owned very fast cars and can tell you that the XFire though not a E55 Mercedes or an S4, its a pretty quick car with ample torque.

The Magazines are BullS**T when it comes to rating cars. They have problems with everything on every car. They were complaining that the Mustang has a solid beam rear axle as opposed to independent suspension and thats better than the XFire??????????? Also they'll name a car top ten today and in three months put it in a comparo and it'll rate last, the very same car that just three months prior they named top ten.

You just are upset that your car is not the quickness you expected, hey go lease a SRT6 and call it a day.

From owning many fast cars all my life from Porsche to Audi S4's i can tell you that the XFire lacks the punch of those cars but that's about it, you are discrediting the car completely and just commenting its nice styling when there's more to styling in the XFire. I'll leave it at that.

If you're not happy hey go and buy what makes you happy bottom line that's your cash on the line isn't it. Though dont go by magazines they have a tendency to name certain cars top ten when they are top junk.

And the XFire is not antique like soo many people claim, it's just a chassis, engine and tranny from an older model, which in fact the tranny is still being used by MB as is the engine in the CLK320 and E320 so older is not always a bad thing.

If i remember correctly the Mustang engine is a 4.6 liter which is OLDER than MB's 3.2 Liter V6. All they did was bump up the horsepower from 260 to 300 but it's the SAME ENGINE OLDER than MB's 3.2 which is from late 90's.

Just the opposite for me I hated my Track model 350z after a week, the XF feels quicker .but with less effort and noise ! Good luck. I'd buy a SRT6 over most but I hate the wing .I'm going to wait and SEE what their price does in the next months ahead. I hope they drop $10k US like the Crossfire did.Still looking for a XKR for 35k. coupe.

The only alternative I have when I think of replacing my XFIRE is a viper! I was planning to sell mine 'cause it hurts me to see that in one year my XFIRE is down by $10,000. While I can still sell it for around 20 gran + , I can use that money as a downpayment for a 2 year old viper where my balance is equivalent of upgrading my XFIRE with a Renntech 6.

What changed my mind in selling my XFIRE happened when one day I was following a black XFIRE for 1 hour. The driver was just cruising so I have a chance to take a good look at the XFIRE in any angle and that made me fall in love with the XFIRE again. The looks can really kill! Y'all need to try it and y'all will feel the same feeling that I had.

So, I'm saving some money now to get either a Renntech, Brabus or Carlsson upgrade for more speed while I keep the looks of my XFIRE.

Gotta read more car magazines in that way you'll know which car you're gonna race with where you'll win for sure. Other than that don't race...especially with a Corvette!

These comments are so inane. ohh myy goooodddd........... you know of one 350z........... and it has nooooo probleeemssssss??????? wowowowowow...... its just being stated you are more likely to have a tranny problem in the 35o than you are in the crossfire. one example proves nothing, its the probability, its more likely to happen in a 35o. if you dont know 35o's have tranny problems then you haven't done much research on them......

exactly. Just type into any search engine "350Z Forums" and you'll get a bunch of them click on any and the first thing you'll see is "My tranny went at 6,500 mi." , "Tranny bad", "Transmission needs Replacement", etc..... this is in addition to lots of clutch problems they are having with their cars and the window cinching mechanism is failing on their cars alot.

If you are concerned with build quality, don`t even consider a Ford!

If you wanted a faster car for the same money, you should have bought a Neon SRT4

So how fast do you want to go? Did'nt you say you hit 168 mph? lets see the max speed limit here in the states is 75. What do you drive around looking for cars to race on the streets?
I was going to buy a mustang but I'm glad I didn't. I love my crossfire
