Default MB's 3.2 V6 Engine Details

I had this link and thought it might be useful for those wanting to know details of the engine in their XFire's and how technologically advanced it is. http://www.whnet.com/4x4/new_V6.html

SO WHAT?????????????????????????????????

I didn't post this for your kind of remarks, i posted it for those who want to know the technology involved in making the engine thats in their XFire's.

Furthermore, alot of the technology in this engine is still not found in alot of cars that are '05's, such as dual sparks. Also is still holds true to being one of the lightest if not the lightest V6 in its class. Also the fact that they were able to come up with a great alternative to Variable Valve Timing which the XFire engine doesn't have, in which they created uneven intake runners to make up for the lack of vvt making the engine very responsive at low rpms.

The engine in the 350z is 1984 vintage. The rx8 1973. Both with modest improvements. 1998 sounds pretty good.

Anyone try the nickel test.

I didn't know this engine has won awards 4 years ,over all others.and they still dropped it .

I think they'll put the new 3.5 in 06 crossfires.

I think they will put the 3.5 V6 in the last year of production, only because it doesn't cost that much more and they're already tooled up to build them for all other C class and E class cars ! I hope.

unless they just have too many 3.2s sitting around.

I hope they put the 3.5 in the car. However the new 3.5 is designed to fit in the NEW slk platform not the old one which is the one we have, however the displacement only grew by .3 which is not a huge difference and Mercedes' platforms have always been designed with future engine upgrade dimensions in mind from the start (the original SLK was a 2.3 Liter Kompressor and they wound up putting the 3.2 in it without changing the chassis and they also put the 3.2 Supercharged AMG in with the additional plumbing in it which also fit) so i think that our existing chassis with a few minor adjustments can house the 3.5 V6 with no problem. Now it's up to DC if they want to do it, all we can do is HOPE.

Bullfrog, excellent engine post!

I tried with the Canadian nickel that has the queen's face on front and her bum on back; she fell on her a.. every time; even when the engine was off.

Anyone have sales figures for 05s ?

Production vin# for 2005 is beyond 50,000 so far; I believe I saw 51something on this forum; That number is pretty significant so far this year.
However, certainly not reflected in poll count posted elsewhere.

Anyone having a VIN # over 50000 want to let us know.
