Angry WTF has anybody mounted the front plate???

I refuse to mount my front Lisence plate. I love the front end of the car almost as much as I love the rear. I'm NOT punching holes in my front bumper! sorry you can preach to me till your blue in the face about the "law" and the "need" for the front plate "I DON'T CARE"
just woundering if any of you feel the same way
I had to vent had an agument with some TT owner hell bent on me mounting it...

Most likely I wrong and i'm smart enough to admit it but I can't see doing that to the car I love...

I don't know if this will make you feel any better but this is my side of the story.
Here we have similar law regarding the license plates, so we have both front and rear fixed before we brought our car out of the dealer. So you see, I have no say. IF I have a choice, I will prefer to leave the bumper just the way it is without obstructing the beauty of its own. MPO, it neither bother the look of the bumper nor the car. I don't have pix to show but mine is black in white background match the color of my car - black. Perhaps the dealers are able to offer you plates of different choices that may give you consolation about the look.
Maybe you need time to adjust and get use to the idea.

Hope you won't stop loving..

I love my car too :-)

It's also the law here in Tejas. I figure I'll leave it off until I get stopped for it. Then I'll feign ignorance and promise to take care of it as soon as I get home. "Is that right officer? Wow, I wish they'd tell ya that when you get a new car! This is my 1st new car, all the others ones I bought just already had them on there and I never gave it any thought. Glad ya told me, I'll take care of it as soon as I get home!"

Red face Re: WTF has anybody mounted the front plate???

Well some of you are lucky people.
Being fined is fine with me but getting some demerit points in our "Driver's Point System" is painful because that will affect our Driver's Grading. Oh well..
...some of you are just so lucky.

Thumbs up Re: WTF has anybody mounted the front plate???

Oklahoma doesn't require a front plate.

Detest front plates! Managed to intercept the "lot boy" as he was about to install the front plate mounting bracket. No front plate for me. Yippee. (see avatar) Front plates should be abolished.

I also hate the front plate, but it had already been mounted by the dealer.

xfuego, I guess you can always tell the officer, "Gee, I thought that second plate they gave me was just a spare in case someone stole the first one!"

Was fortunate that the dealer did not install the front bracket, I carry the second plate in the pocket behind the driver's seat, leave the bracket in the garage.

No way to fix that, huh? Moving from IL to FL (moving from needing front plates to not needing them) and got these big, stupid holes in front.

My plate holder was not installed when I got my Yellow 05 Roadster, and I will not install it until I get a fix-it ticket. Here in Calif. it is considered a fix-it item, so what I plan on doing is to the attach the plate with double sided sticky tape. I tried it and it works good, no problem removing the tape later. I mounted the tape on the back side of the holder were the screws would normally go. I keep the holder, license, and an extra brass frame (goes with the yellow) in the trunk, without screws, saying "I need to buy some, but have not gotton aroung to it yet."

Wow, you can go without front plates AND drive with the top down in the winter??
Good Move!!

It doesn't seem right that some states don't require the front plates and others do. Do the cops in the latter ones take classes on how to read plates in the rear view mirror?

MI doesn't require them, and we have NEVER put front plates on our cars. We don't let dealers put their decals on either!

Definitely took the dealer decal off, but holes were already drilled into the bumper. Pretty much can't get a car in IL without the bracket already drilled in. People that came up with this must have never had a good looking car...let's face it, plate on the front of a Buick LeSabre boat doesn't make an impact like it does on our awesome little cars!

I was really impressed with my dealership since they asked me if I wanted the front plate put on. I of course told them not to. I also told them not to put any decals on, and they said they don't put anything on Crossfires. I went with a friend to buy her 350Z, and they did the same thing. I guess they are used to people not wanting tags on the front of nicer looking cars. I have a lot of friends without front plates, and none of us have ever gotten stopped for it (knock on simulated wood grain). I drive by a police station twice a day and meet lots of cops, so I'm sure if they were looking for it, I would have been stopped by now.

I live in Nevada and drove a corvette for years without a front plate and was never stopped once. Of course, here in Las Vegas a lot of people drive around with no plates at all, so I don't think NHP gets to excited about no front plate. Don't have one on the Crossfire and don't plan to put one on.

the dealer installed mine without asking, bunch of bastards, i still took it off, my car is the graphite metallic so you cant notice the holes unless you are looking for them, im still bummed 100%. I'm thinking about buying the SRT front end though, i heard its more aggressive but i havent put much research into it. oh well, holes in the front bumper life goes on.

I dont need a front plate but the prior owner did and drilled the holes for it. Anyone know where I can get a couple of white plugs to fill in the holes. The owner also installed spinners on the wheels by drilling through the emblems!!! Dealer says buy new hubcaps $$$$$

Phil.
