Default Intake Question

Have any of you bought this intake off of ebay?

BLUE 2004-2008 CHRYSLER CROSSFIRE 3.2 3.2L DUAL TWIN AIR INTAKE KIT SYSTEMS

I know its not the same as needswings but its 10% of the price.

When you installed this intake, did you remove the stock filters?

Thanks in advance.

I wonder if FP has seen this?

It's a "Hot Air" intake and one should stay away.

I know its not a very performance driven modification.... A hot air intake with more air volume maybe? There is no real fabrication involved so it would be easy to revert back to stock.

I'll shoot Miata a message

Yeppers.. remove the stock filters.. and use a seal of your choice on the boxes (window - door foam seals).. I think one or two went as far as silicon.. not my idea of choice on that one.

I am pretty sure I have seen them even cheaper.
My silverfox has a set of those, where on when I purchased, never had oem boxes, wish I did.
The cover pops on and off easy with that setup.

Good to know Miata. Thanks for the info! I use silicon now on the stock filters, but without a filter there I would probably need a thicker seal.
