Default Help buying proper and cheap motor mounts

I have a 2004 Chrysler Crossfire linited. 6 speed manual. I know for sure the driver side motor mount is shot. I figured replace both motor mounts and the transmission mount.

I found this thread post 26 and beyond talk about using motor mounts for an E55. I looked on AutoZone (local store for me) and I found that they are $70 with limited lifetime warranty. Are these motor mounts a good idea?

Also, what transmission mount should I get? AutoZone has this transmission mount that says it fits my car and it has lifetime warranty as well.

I was going to get the whole set from NeedsWings but AutoZone can be faster and cheaper. With lifetime warranty. I know the guys that work there and they never hassle me with warranty replacements. What do you guys think?

OEM Mercedes run a little over $100 each. I personnally haven't had good luck with AutoZone parts, but it is your call.

Are the OEM ones good? I heard they wear out fast. If I'm going to get mounts that wear out fast I'd rather get slightly cheaper made ones with lifetime warranty.

Separate question: does the E55 mounts in fact fit the crossfire. And if they do are they just as strong, etc?

Thanks!!!

I suspect the E55 are the exact same mounts as the SLK 320. The OEM mounts are as good as anything you can buy and better than most. I still have the original mounts on my 2005 Crossfire, but did replace one mount on a 2005 CLK 500. Most XF owners are still running on their original mounts. I bought Lemfoerder, who make the OEM mounts, for the CLK 500 at Pelican Parts for $67.00. I reused the heat shields for the mounts that were on the car rather than buying new ones.

My 05 roadster is still running on the original mounts and is going strong.

Have you actually inspected those mounts???? If the mount is bad you will see oil leaking down from the mount. What I see in your video looks more likely you have lost one of the retaining nuts!! Lift that car and do a visual inspection.

Wow, yes that mount is killed, or lost the bolt holding it in from the bottom. With you driving the car like that you surely killed the other 2 mounts too. So replace both motor mounts plus the trans mount at this point.

Early on I used 3/8" cable to limit the range of motion on my motor mounts. Just too much torque to not have it limited, by a restraint of some type. The photos is in my gallary of what I had done , just a lot of projects to search on. Woody Enjoy

I went ahead and got them from AutoZone. Lifetime warranty. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake, I noticed they're made in China. Also, passenger side wasn't fun but doable. But the driver side.... Nearly impossible!

Woody if you could tell me how you did that, I'd be interested to do that also.
