xfire old or young
I recently posted pics of my xfire on a 350Z forum to see what people would say about it. Most of the people said its an old person's car, I'm 16. Do you guys consider the crossfire an old person's car or younger? Obviously for example the Z is more a younger car. Either way I love my xfire no matter how old I am.
most 350z owners would say such a thing. they'll tell you all about how much faster it is and how cool it is, and while they're saying all that, a dozen or so will pass by. i betcha you see 10 350z's on the road for every 1 crossfire. THAT'S why i love my car. i can't stand owning something that everyone else owns.

You can be old by the time you get a car that you have wanted when you are of younger age, but you want just that one car, that one car you will want to get.

I am 21 and consider it to be an any age car too. In fact, I almost purchased a Chrysler 300 but had to buy the crossfire when I saw it.
Those that are jealous, will tell you why their car is better. We don't have to tell why, they just know.

I would consider the Crossfire a trans age car, albeit me being 54 years "young", I probably would skew the histogram a wee bit.
Now, with my Cobra, the situation is quite different. Most Cobra replica owners are "old" as pretty much no "young" owners can even hope to attain insurance from anyone.
I would suggest this be made into a POLL so we can see what the ages are...

I consider it to be an "older" than "younger" persons car because it isn't a racer-boy car (as in Eclipse) plus it is a statement of classic looks over sheer stomp-the-gas-and-go (Like the 350z). The car is plenty fast for me and my heart is always beating fast when i'm behind the wheel. It still gets all the looks from people even though its been out a while and feel like it will still be unique for years to come. Even in a few months from now when the Pontiac Solstice is everywhere, we will still have a unique car that isn't on every corner or at every light.
P.S. Just turned 41 but still feel 30...

...In truth, the Crossfire is probably most often purchased by those who are either under 30 or over 50. Why? The years between the two are often spent raising children. This is not a family car, but I suspect there are a few dads that keep one around as a toy. That's what I plan to do.
Regarding that comment from the 350Z forum, are you sure it wasn't made by a jealous SOB that owns a clapped out, 15 year old 300? I guess it doesn't matter. I kind of like the fact that the Crossfire is in no way associated with the Ricer crowd. Kind of like those other tire smoking "old persons' cars", the Mustang GT, C6 Corvette, GTO, SLK350, and Audi TT. There is not one ounce of Civic street scene in any of the aforementioned rides... and if that makes them old person's cars, then I guess I have a lot to look forward to!

Definitely not an old person's car. Though that was the first thing out of the young salesmen's mouth as he then tried to sell me a Hemi pickup truck. If you want to escape the "ricer" sedan image and aren't into the retro look, the crossfire is one of the FEW options. (Not to mention finding something with a manual transmission). A TON of people my age have said that they really like the car.
Maybe a better term is "mid-life crisis" car. But that puts us in the same league as Ferrari, Corvette, Porsche, etc... So I guess that's okay...

The only thing all small cars have wrong with them is it is very hard to make out in them. I maybe 58 but my wife and I still like to make out on some back road and there is not much room. But I still love this little car, so much fun to drive at any age you maybe.
LOL @ some of the responses...
I'm 26 and I notice I get more compliments and 'cat calls' from women that look 30 and up in age. My friends rx8 seems to get all the young high school 'jail bait' attention...not that it matters anyway (i'm married). *laughing*
