i always thought the horn was a tad wimpy in the crossfire. i added these two metal hella horns...for a bolder presence when needed. they are double the size of the stock plastic horns and mount to the original factory brackets using the existing wiring behind the upper grill.

it is more of a very loud "mercedes benz" sounding horn.

i had those Supertones on my Miata. they work great. and i had their air horns http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog..._2520&SKU=77839 on my bike. really nice stuff --

i haven't looked into it yet, but does the factory system have a relay? no need to add one when you did the horns?

no relay needed...just replace horns & attach factory wires.

Andrew,

Are you still happy with your horns? No complaints? I will have to get a set for my car. I was almost in a accident because other driver did not hear my horn.

Andrew I got my horns but I can't figure out how to get the grill off.

I have the four main bolts off but how do I get the rest off without breaking it?

edit/update: OK got the horns in, it was extra easy. I'm a little underwelmed. I thought it would sound like the horn in my Porsche but it is definitely kind of a "small" car horn. Its loud but it doesn't have presence.

Still better than the old horn though.

Once you remove the bolts...push out from the bottom first real slow.

Yup, thanks guys, I got it off.

I like the horn better than stock but its still not "horn" like. What I mean is when I sound the horn on the Porsche or my cousins husbands ferrari it sounds like high pitched trumpets. This horn sounds like an Audi A3 type horn. Oh well, I'll stick with it since it sounds better than the dying moose stock horns.

Nothing like reviving a 9 year old thread........lol.

I've been considering buying a set, especially considering i'm not running a grill anymore. An exposed intake & exposed hella supertones might look pretty gnarly. I am looking at getting a set through Subimods since they offer them with black & silver grills (still debating which color I want to go with). Although they'll ultimately end up being relocated once I ever save up to buy another intake so I can run the dual-intake setup.

Our cars have horns? I thought that was just an airbag cover.

And reviving it again ...
I couldn't get my imported USA SRT6 titled here in The Netherlands because the horns were not loud enough
Found a nice, 110dB(A) loud and not too expensive set: Hella TE16
