Scraping From Lowering?
I plan on putting some Eibach springs on my crossfire with some wheel spacers, any of you out there had some bad run ins with some entrances or driveways with scraping the front fascia on the ground? I have been reluctant to lower it because I don't want to have to get the car repainted everytime I pull in somewhere and the car scrapes on the ground.
Yes..but that's going to happen with any lowered car. The trick is learning how to manipulate speed bumps and driveways. Almost all of my cars have been lowered, so it doesn't phase me at this point. Besides the fact, if you do scrape inadvertently it should pretty much be kept to the very bottom of the bumper and not noticeable... (unless you nail it I assume!).
i have had mine lowered with eibachs for well over a year. no scrapes yet.
you just have to be able to judge the front nose when pulling up to parking blocks or curbs.

This is a problem I had with my SRT-4. I found out that it never scratched the bottom of the bummer, it was only the plastic/rubber diffuser. This is why I am not going to lower my xfire. I don't see it being very practical for my daily driver for the next 5 years. Maybe after I graduate and purchase another car this will be a good mod.
If you lower your xfire you will scrape it on something at one point or another.

The stock front end 1 inch lower is ok for everyday driving here but, I don't run into high entry's much. If you have a lot of high entry parking lots or bumps? I wouldn't drop it.

I'd love to meet some of you Crossfire owners though, we should try to hook up if the sun ever returns to the O.C.!
I would want to scrape my front bumper so that i'll have a reason to replace it with the SRT-6 bumper! I did scraped it before from a parking block...but that was before i had it lowered.
Hey Mopar and hubby, only one freebie husband or you! But you have to show up here! Channel Islands Harbor.
Hey Cyril, the SRT6 front bumper sits even lower so be careful what you wish for.
