Lightbulb Small, simple mod that could save your console cover from getting nicked

I noticed when I first got my car that the console door opens pretty quickly and slams into the plastic compartment behind our seats. To fix this all I did was get myself and black towel and folded it over using the map holder compartment. I'm not sure if everyone's as **** as I am, but the sound that makes scared the hell out of me. Hope this helps someone out!

I already have so many things stored in the pocket behind the seats (maps, manual, safety vest ...), that the console cover never touches the hard plastic.

I use a rubber sunglass pad and put it in the console to protect the paint from blemishing since my elbow rests on it while driving. It will also protect the console from bumping with the map holder.

I removed the cover and it can hold a couple of cold ones ,makes a great can or bottle holder!

Who needs a cupholder!

put your owners manual in there. not only will you stop the banging, but it frees up your glove box.

That's awesome, I did that a few days after I picked my car up. The slamming noise was driving me nuts...

I went to the hardware store and purchased a package of small round rubber clear bump ons and stuck one perfectly centered between the umbrella holders = [ . ] When the door opens = it meets the rubber bump on instead of the plastic. Since the rubber is clear = it is barely noticeable and looks factory installed. Just my quick fix 2 cents!

I placed a small strip of velcro where the console hits the divider. Only the fuzzy
piece, I tossed the loop piece away.

With a black interior, the velcro isn't very visible.

Today I received by mail a road map from DC. A new item to put in the pocket and bulge it more.

An easy solution to the issue is to store the owners manual and other documents that came with the car in the pouch between the seats.
