crossfire price
I don't know how much it costs DC to make the crossfire (or any DC car). However, dealers have to pay a markup on the cost of the car as well.
So while your goal is to pay as close to how much the car cost the dealer (dealer invoice), you will never pay the price of just making that car.
If you paid that much on a 2005 limited, then you got a pretty good deal.

I paid $23,000 for my 04' with only 60 miles and loaded with everything, except navigation. They get kick backs from DC, so I'm sure they are not losing money at $27,000. They would NOT sell you the car, they rather wait for someone who will pay it.
i'm pretty sure navigation wasn't available in '04. all '04 cars came identically equipped, except for the tranny option (~$1K) and the tire option (no-cost).
really? wow, i always thought it was no-cost. that is odd then; in another thread i was reading that the contis were considered "upgraded" even though they cost less, and they perform less than the pilots...
This whole debate over price will be a mute point on Wednesday, when DC is expected to match GM and Ford (announced today) in selling their products at "employee cost". What is the "employee cost" for a Crossfire? I managed a $4500. discount off of my 05 Limited with NAV in Jan 05'. I can't imagine what the left over 04's will be going for. Oh, well, if hindsight were only foresight, we would all be richer.
I still will not trade it for anything else. Almost 5000 miles, daily driver, not a squeak, rattle or wheeze. Runs like a top, and still causes the neighbors to turn and look.

When I bought mine, supplier pricing was 1% below invoice. I figure the employee price would be a couple percent less than that, maybe 3% total below invoice. The 04's are already selling for way below that, so I don't think that would affect their price. 05's are selling for invoice or maybe a little below, so I wouldn't expect more than another $1000 off for the employee price.
