Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 vs. Michelin PS2
I'm due for a tire replacement so I scoured Tire Rack's website for replacements. Looks like it's down to the Eagle F1s or the Michelin PS2s.
I've been happy with the PS2s but for a couple hundred bucks in my pocket, I could be swayed to the Eagles. Anybody running the Eagle F1s? How do they compare?

I can only comment about how the Eagles performed on my previous car, a 2000 Contour SVT w/modded suspension and brakes and I can tell you this, they kick as*! They have a good treadwear number (300) and the needed "AA) traction and "A" temp rating. FWIW, the tread design is very cool and its also a pretty quiet tire to boot. I say, go with the Goodyear's. When time comes for me to replace my tires, I'll be looking at either the Eagles or BFG KDW2's.
I had a set of Eagle F1's on my last car - an MG 'F and they transformed the handling of the car - I'll probably go for them again when the car's original tires need replacing.
I am with Aero on this, I had a 2000 SVT as well and the BFG KDW2's are the best handling tire I have ever driven on. I will be replacing with those after my continentals wear out which is not any time soon. I have no experience with this particular model of goodyear.
I'll never have to buy tires for my Crossfire because as long as I get the $80 oil changes every 5,000 miles at the dealer I get free Conti sports for life. So far the Contis are OK but nothing like the P Zeros on the Porsche. But hey, you can't beat free.
I'm at 20k miles and still have a bit of tread left but the wear bars are starting to peek over the edge. Plus, they seem to be getting noisier and noisier.
Thanks for your feedback.

But like you said it is tough to beat free.
Both the PS2's & the F1's are very good tires but the PS2's are a better tire.
I've run the Eagles for about 5000 miles to date, mostly highway driving in dry and some wet, no snow. The Eagle is a great road tire. It was easy to get from Goodyear. Tried the Michelin dealer for the PS2s. After three weeks of no show...cancelled the order and decided to fly with the Eagles.

Two flats at different times on the same day convinced me that it might be prudent to have a complete backup set and since I was putting new wheels on, I decided to get the Michelin Pilot Sports (not PS2's) with the new wheels. The Eagles on the original wheels are in storage, new Ronal wheels with Pilot Sports are currently on the car. WMichaels is running the BFG KDW's on his car which he uses for autocross. And Hey, if you are reading on the other site, be sure to post a "hi" or something!
