UGH!!! Where can I buy some REAL grill mesh and not this cheap ricer crap?
I am ordering another factory grill and I need to find some REAL grill mesh like on the XJR or Bentley, not this paper weight stuff from Ebay or PEP Boys. Its like aluminum foil.
Anybody know? This project will address what I feel is the weakness of the mesh grill from that silver show car. That grill sits to far back. My mesh grill will have the same profile as the factory grill.
Thanks.

so tell us how you really feel, really.
have you tried grillcraft grills? i heard those are made out of excellent material but i never ordered from there before.
Heh heh, sorry. Didn't mean to go overboard.
Grillcraft eh?
Only problems with these is that they are already pre-formed. I need that quality but a flat sheet.

I still have a piece for sale...(even thicker gauge wire then the one in the above link).

I also ordered the sample pack. The key is going to be making an Alabaster surround for the grill. Hmmmmm.
nahh -- make a chrome surround. just buy some of that U-shaped door trim and stuff it on the ends of your new grill. good luck on your project; we'll trade pics when we're done.
No way man.
I hopefully will be able to make a grill that is body colored like the Jaguar XJRs. I don't like chrome trim around a mesh grill for a sports car. it should be body colored.
Any suggestions?

The body trim stuff also tends to be tough to put on the mesh. Also, it will look 'wavy' at insertion points and especially around bends.
^^^Yeah, that is not an option. I'm thinking of maybe doing a model out of resin and then doing it in fiberglass. Also working on a copy rear spoiler by Startech for the rear.
