sporadic rattle
rattle every once in awhile, seems to be coming from the right rear area, like from the right rear corner of the hatch or fuel door? Anyone have this problem and the cause or fix for it?
Thanks.

I had it too. My dealer fixed it. Don't know exactly how and what, but he told me they did something to the inside hatch cover. Next I'll have to be done is the rattling hatch lock replacement.
I was able to eliminate an annoying rattle from the hatchback by lowering the 2 rubber bumpers on the hatch. It took less than 5 minutes to fix. To do it yourself you need a star wrench.
I have a rattle kind of noise when I accelerate harder. The techs fix was to put a bunch of grease where the bumpers contact. This didn't fix it, it just gave me a great place to accidentally get grease on my clothes.

@dadof4, what do you mean with "lowering the 2 bumpers"? Make them shorter or mount them in a lower position?

The mounting holes for the bumpers are elongated. They were made to be adjustable. Hope this helps.

christo76,
I have the exact problem your having only when you accelerate harder the noise is coming from the back and its pretty audible that my passengers ask "what's that?" I just picked up car from service and all they did was tighten everything and lube and it still does it.
Could it be the styrofoam sections under the trunk carpeting that are flexing and rubbing against body under acceleration???

Thanks...little fix - great effect!
My hatch is definitely quiet now! It's about a week ago I had the rear latch replaced. I lowered the bumpers too. Not a single sound since.
Thanks for that advice.
