Quick plea from a UK member.
Mr Clarkson is not representing the UK's collective view, just his. The block (edit bloke - other words also fit) is an entertainer more that a reviewer or journalist, (these days at least). He slates almost everything apart from for Italian stuff, Zonda and a few other supercars like the Bentley GT.
He did buy a GT40 but I think he might have sent it back? and he was really quite nice about the Crossfire Roadster. I think everyone who saw the shots from Iceland would have to admit the film work is special. Will try to post some clips if I can make them small enough.

yeah i know that. i still watch the show all the time on winamp internet tv because it has great cinematography, narrations, production and editing. it was way better when tiff was the host, and i cant get 5th gear here in the states, which sux. Its funny because clarkson rips american cars, yet the jag is built on an american platform. and he did return his ford gt because he said with the doors the way they are he couldn't park anywhere.

"So. it's look like a dog, doing a poo, slow uncomfortable, expensive, badly interior, and a awful gearbox. the engine doesn't make any particularly sporty noise, and the ride is terrible and it's not economically. This has to be the worst example of American-German cooperation."
That's quiet nice?

he is talking about the roadster, that's why he said roadster, don't attack the guy. the roadster show was a comparison between the tt, crossfire, and boxter. people on this forum are getting a little out of hand.
Hey WST, get this, some people in the UK have compared the crossfire's looks to the "bat mobile".
A bat mobile in Romania... lol ... good for road trips though Transylvania?

For the topic. Top Gear is great entertainment. Not a real informative motor show. Who of the viewers can afford the cars they present the most? But the clips/movies are just beautiful, doesn't matter what weather. For those who've seen the Island episode - beautiful.

One thing to bear in mind is in the UK we pay some strange prices for cars, that sometimes distorts the view from elsewhere. BMW options are pricey, so a loaded 3 series can but a poorer deal than a loaded X-type. I think the 3 series outsold the Ford Mondeo (Taurus?) last year in the UK, so that makes it common as muck and one to stay away from!
