Default DCAI install and relocating coolant/power steering lines?

Hi everyone!

I don’t have my Needswings DCAI setup yet but it’s ordered. I took a glimpse at the instructions and some threads on the forum. My car is an SRT6 but this should be the same for NA/SRT6. I get conflicting info. The instructions obviously say to cap and relocate the power steering/coolant lines. I heard from some posts that this is not necessary.
To anyone who has installed DCAI, can you shed some light on this procedure and whether it is necessary to relocate the lines? If so, what is the best way to go about not spilling too much? And if it isn’t required like the instructions say, how did you go about it?

Thanks for any help and info.

Nick

I have a duel CAI on my SRT6 and a single on the Limited. Nether car required anything to the coolant/power steering lines other than a simple bend out of the way. DO NOT DISCONNECT; Just install the CAI with the filters and the coolant lines will take care of themselves with a little help.

Ok perfect. Thanks for confirming. I'll see what steps they have in the PDF as far as relocation goes and will omit and just see how that goes. I'm sure once I'm in there it will make a lot of sense.

yea it isn’t difficult I did it many years ago and found it easy and I have no wrenching experience whatsoever

I think it will make sense once I start. I read the instructions and some of them look a little intimidating or unclear but it's hard to capture steps in a manual.

Rob at Needswings will provide all the info for your install
I recall only needing to move the horns
Nothing had to be capped as far as the lines

Well that's the thing...the instructions I found on here (Needswings but might be outdated) say to relocate but I have heard different things from multiple people.

if you went with the largest filters you will definitely have to relocate the horns. I believe mine are just sitting in there not mounted to anything. If I recall I did have to do something like replace part of the coolant line but he provided everything for it
