Default Want to introduce myself

Hey everybody, I am Benjamin, 23 from Tacoma, Washington. I bought my 2004 Crossfire Limited Coupe a month ago and just found this site. My car is stock for now except it has a Hollandria Webasto sunroof which was the selling point. Initially I was looking for Graphite w/ Red and Black Leather - but Black with Graphite leather is what I got.

Plans for the car...

20" rear Lowenhart
19" front Lowenhart
HR Cup Kit
Kleeman Big Brake Kit
Upsolute Chip
Katskinz Interior
Chrome mirrors/gills/grille/windshield surround

Don't expect this to be an overnight project... but it will happen over the next year.

Hi Benjamin, welcome to the forum. The Crossfire is a great car; you are at the perfect age to enjoy it!
Careful though; no speeding tickets.

Before this car, I had a Turbo Jetta - and if I were to have received a ticket... that would have been the car... my insurance is reasonable with this car, so I am not willing to risk that.

Thanks for the warm welcome...

We all know this car... day I bought her!

Here is my Jetta, 2004 Jetta GLi 1.8T

Before that was a 1998 GTi

Before that was a 2002 Mazda Wagon (2002 Hot Import Nights)

Question Re: Want to introduce myself

Can we see a better pic of the sunroof. I just can't imagine how that really looks on the car, seeing how the "crease" goes right down the roof line. Welcome to this car forum, it could use a shot of attitude (reading your sig)!

I have not heard it put in such an eloquent fashion before but it works...

Greetings from the North Coast, and I'm with Aero Blue, please post some close up photos of the sunroof!

You're the man!

What's the product code for crossfires in Katzkin? I need my leather seat color changed to red/black. I went to their website last week but it seems like their website is down. Thanks!

...I had one of those Protege5's. I was "juddz" over on protegeclub.com, too.
Mine had its fair share of mods; check it out at http://www.mazda3club.com/vbgarage.php?do=view&id=7563
Those were the days... funny that even after thousands of dollars in mods, I was not all that sad to see it go. I guess getting the beautiful, bad@ss sports car you always wanted can do that.

Anyhow, welcome. My Crossfire is bone stock at the moment, save some custom emblems from Dan Root. I'm not really sure what I want to do to it yet (if anything). Regardless, remember how much you clamored for aftermarket support, when you owned that Protege? Well, it's much worse (and much more expensive) this time. Fortunately, your Crossfire is already pretty fast and pretty sweet.

Do me a favor, when you get a chance? I would not mind seeing more photos of your sun roof. It's an intriguing thing on a Crossfire, and I am curious to see how it affects the look of the car.

Is that estimate from Katzkin Andrew?

It aint bad at all compared to replacing it with Recaro seats! Plus, we have a local Katzkin installer here in my town!

no... it was actually from a local reputable custom upholstery business.

i was wanting to change out the vinyl textured center area for a red similar to my old M3. i miss the red leather. i think the contrast would be a nice touch in the crossfire.

It's just my opinion, but I think I'll be keeping mine "imperforated". It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would though.

Thanks... for me, being 6'4, the sunroof is essential. Yeah, it gets a little hair gel on it now and then... but I just felt to claustrophobic in the car without it.

Welcome to the forum, you'll get some good stuff here... Before you sell yourself on the AM parts you've chosen, look at the KW coil overs http://www.kw-suspension.com/en/index.php & Brembo big brake kit http://www.racetechnologies.com/. both were designed specifically for the Crossfire. Brembo used my '04 as the prototype... Have fun...

I'm 6'2" so I know what you're talking about. But doesn't the back edge of the sunroof end before it actually goes over your head? In the photos, it just doesn't look like it goes back far enough to actually give you any extra headroom...Mike

I sat in a coupe w/out sunroof and the sunroof gives me an extra inch closed and 2" vented.
