Has anyone else experienced this stock radio problem?
The other day while out driving, I went to turn the radio on ... after a few moments I noticed the Chrysler emblem was still on the screen with no music playing. Turning the radio off then back on did not fix the problem nor did ejecting and re-installing a music cd = I had to turn the entire car off to reset the radio to work! Is this a problem that anyone else has experienced? The dealer told me that they will not replace the radio unit unless they can see it happen for themselves!
Read the manual on the radio. I am pretty sure there is a way to disable the radio from coming on. I have read the procedure but can't quote it right now.
The online Becker manual for our stereo does not include a section on the disabling option ... could this be specific to the paper manual? Has anyone else experienced this odd problem ... or know how I may have accidentally disabled my stereo unit?
I had this happen once right after I got the car. The Chrysler logo got stuck on the screen and the controls were unresponsive. I turned the car off for about 20 seconds and the problem cleared and has not returned since. FYI, I still have the old style (light characters on black background) radio.
I also had this happen. The first time or two was within an week or so of getting the car. Same situation with the dealer -- they would not do anything about it unless they could duplicate the issue.
Some weeks/months went by with no issues, then it happened when my husband was driving the car.
It is so sporadic that it seems like it will be impossible to duplicate at the dealer.

Possibly there is a way to manually disable the stereo = to keep others (such as a dealer) from blasting the stereo damaging speakers during a routine service ... although, after a restart on the engine ... the stereo is functional again. This problem seems to be wide spread through all years / models of stereos = there has to be a reasonable explanation?
Yes, count me in on this one. I had the car for two days (05' coupe limited) and this happened. Restarted the car and like magic it worked again. Fortunately, I haven't had a problem since.
me too!!! That isn't the worst problem however - the really terrible noise I get while listening to AM radio is far more problematic...
I had that happen to me the day I purchased my crossfire on my way home. It was a 20 mile drive and I could not get the darn thing working. What makes it worse is I design auto electronics for a living and my girl-friend got in my car, turned it on, and it worked fine. I haven't had another problem since.
This must be just the design of the stock radios ... upon turn on = it must be trying to do too many internal macro functions at once for which it occasionally freezes up. Since many of you are experiencing this ... and throughout all years and colors of displays ... this must be a rare but normal event with no reason to worry!
Recently my radio automatically switches to a radio station that's not on my pre-set.
Reverts/switches to the same station each time. When this happens, the pre-sets don't work to turn it back & I have to switch to AM then back to FM.
Anyone else have this happen?

^^^ Not yet ... at least! I do have another problem with the right adjustment ****. When I try to advance cd tracks too quickly = sometimes it will keep going back one track or not change tracks promptly? I have to turn the **** slowly to get it to perform correctly.
Mine did that once and I don't remember what fixed it.
I wouldn't worry about it much unless it becomes common.
I didn't have the factory radio in the car long.
I thought the factory radio sounded good it just didn't have the features I wanted.

The only problem I've had is on occasions if you hit a bump the cd player will skip and it not I hit a bump or anything even a small one will cause it to skip on occasions. Might just need to clean the lazer.
Evidently, there have been 3-4 different generations of becker head units in the crossfire. This may account for why some issues seem to be more prevalent on the earlier models.
Have a problem with my (2004) radio as well - the am lost its preset of my stations and won't allow reset of buttons, and even makes it hard to locate stations manually, but works fine on fm...what the Heck???
btw. In both coupes we’ve had we have-replaced
the original unit with a JVC unit with Bluetooth
I have 2 original infinity radios 🤓
