Just found this forum. Was wondering if there was one for Crossfires.

Up until yesterday, thought I was going to buy a new GTO. Had been waiting for GM Card to ante up some more money, but it didn't happen.

Drove a CrossFire yesterday, following up on a local ad, and by 4:00 this afternoon, had made a deal on it.

Will be taking delivery on Jan. 3rd.

Hope to get some good information here, and maybe after I become more familiar with the car, I can add some.

Thanks for the welcomes; have to admit I'm a little concerned with all the problems I've read here though - - I surfed the Edmunds forum before buying, but it wasn't quite as comprehensive - -

 

Congrats on the purchase. Funny thing, I considered a GTO as well when I bought the Crossfire. Great minds think alike, I suppose.

Feel free to share some of the details on your car (color, trim level, transmission, etc).

 

Places like these tend to focus on the problems, since we are dealing with them and post for solutions. In general, I don't think Crossfires are any better/worse than any other car - just COOLER!!!

I had a couple of Mustangs before this - also really good cars - but the Mustang web forums were full of ford-related problems, too. Just enjoy your ride - and welcome!!!

 

Need any info just ask. Congrats! What color? Model. Get rotex gold brakes pads first! Saves alot of wheel cleaning.
Where are you located?

 

Mine's just the base model; black with six speed.

Only changes I would like to make are finding a set of the fog lights to install, and maybe pick up a set of the nicer door sill plates.

Biggest concern is the "no spare" issue, but I can only remember using a spare tire once in the past 20 or so years- - -

Anyhow, got the car for around $20,500, and the dealership included 3 oil and filter changes, and agreed to mount and balance a set of all season tires when I purchase them. (In my area, that's about a $25.00/wheel charge for low profile tires).

 

Good for you, congratulations, Lots of us here bought and keep a tire plug kit in the car too just in case. It is nice to have options.

The base model has the same great motor and suspension and that is what counts!!!

Welcome aboard! I also looked at buying a GTO but my friend bought a 2004 and he had some serious issues with his speedo. One min. he would be doing 65mph and the next the speedo would freak out and jump between 40-120 mph. So he took it back car was in the shop for over 30 days and he is still working the Lemon Law issue with them a year later!
Glad I bought a Crossfire.

 

I would go for a LTD for around 5-6k more!
