Debadge Revisited
Howdy Fellas:
This is my interpretation on the situation. First, I am all for the debadging of this vehicle, I would like to remove it all. Especially the XfireX spelled out, yuk, its too big on such a small car. This all being simply just 'cause I like the idea of keep most people guessing. A conversation started at the very least, friendly chat. I wouldn't really mention MB, unless they look under the hood and ask...I guess I would tell them that they collaborated on this car. I'm hoping to have the limited within the year, It will be my second car.
Thanks

IMO the Crossfire is what it is, a Chrysler Crossfire. It is not a Mercedes Benz.
It is sold through Chrysler dealerships. It is not sold (new) through Mercedes Benz dealerships.
How many S-Type Jaguars have been rebadged as a Ford Lincoln, or X-Type Jaguars rebadged as Ford Mondeo? None?
Leave it as a Crossfire or debadge it but don't rebrand it.
The majority of the public out there know what a Mercedes Benz is but they rarely recognize the Crossfire.
Doesn't it make you feel good when they ask "What's that you're drivin' mate?"

My badges are staying put.
Simon.
It is a Chrysler Crossfire! I would have never bought a Chrysler product myself. I did and I am proud of it. It is a great car and it shows the DC is working! I think that MB's are great cars but I never see myself in one.
As for advertising, how many Porsche, Lotus, Corvette, Z3 BMW ads do you see?
I think we have something unique and in history who knows will it be famous or forgotten? After talking to a DC Product manager at the Cincy Car show she said sales are picking up and they expect better sales this year, trouble is not enough cars for 2006 in the production line yet.
We will have to see what happens, but for now I own a DC Crossfire and am Proud of it!

I seem to remember people doing this about 50 years ago on certain '55 - '57 Chevy's. Now people were goings "nuts" trying to remember where they put those gold tone "v" emblems and script Chevrolet badges. I'll keep mine. I have never bought a new Chrysler until this car and I must admit, it's because it is a MB slk 320, for a very reasonable price. And I think it's unique body style is far superior to the 2004 SLK 320.That being said, I'll leave the emblems on, and I was totally amazed by how much fun this car is to drive. it should stand on it's own merits,. Badge or debadge, just a personal thing. IMHO.
