hmmm... '07 is still short of that '08 contract of 5 years...

guess we gotta wait til it unfolds further... either way it doesn't bother me...

the FIREPOWER is suppose to replace the XFIRE... but did u see that AIRFLITE??? (its a 4 door version of the crossfire).

XFire - I'll say one thing is for sure, if the Crossfire is replaced in the US by the Firepower, my Crossfire is out the door and back on a dealer’s lot. Let me think about that for a moment, OK if the price is right, other wise I would have purchased a Corvette to start with, right? So yes I would love to see something like "Firepower" being sold in place of the Crossfire, but only for a price that makes sense.

Yes the person at "Karmann" is a good contact. I later inquired about a MB V8 fitting under the hood of my Crossfire, and was told Karmann does not do tuning, only production cars. On the same breath the guy says "but if it'll fit in an SLK it'll fit in the Crossfire."

The production change over probably would vary from year to year depending on how many they are going to build each year, production rates, etc. Build date doesn't necessarily dictate model year either. They were building '05 roadsters while they were still building the last of the '04 coupes. For example:

1C3APE9L5 4X025244...2004 Coupe # 25244
1C3AN65LX 5X025213...2005 Roadster #25213
