Thought I would start a thread dedicated to the 2007 Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit on August 18th.

As others have suggested, along with cruising Woodward Ave., perhaps we could get some good grub, drink some microbrews, visit a museum, etc.

I was doing some figuring and it might be nice if some of us meet up along the way and drive in to Motown together (if possible). I'm not sure when everyone plans on going up and if everyone is going to stay Friday night, Saturday night etc. But, from what I can tell geographically:

FP could meet up with fuzz 40 since FP will most likely roll right through SE Michigan. On the way to Detroit, FP and fuzz 40 could then meet up with crossfirefrank in Jackson, MI. The three of you could then head to Motown.

MI1XFIRE, I may come down to Brighton and meet up with you and then head in (depending on when you are going and if you don't mind).

+fireamx and RickZ, since you guys are both in the NE Ohio region, maybe you guys could hook up for the trip too.

Just a thought. Would be kind of cool to have stampedes of Xfires hitting Motown from all directions.

 

I would gladly meet up with other people who are planning on coming. I am already in Auburn Hills but would be willing to drive to meet other people and guide them into the area possibly.

Sounds like things are starting to come together. Is there going to be one hotel everyone is planning on staying at and a group meeting spot for everyone? I think it would making planning easier in there was one location everyone would meet at before going to the cruise. That is just my suggestion on trying to help plan this event.

The hotel I know the most about would be the Courtyard Auburn Hills. It is located right across from DCX HQ and the Chrysler museum in Auburn Hills. From that hotel it would be about a 10 min drive to the top of Woodward.

Zoom out three times and you will see Woodward Road to the South of the Hotel.

 

Well, as you can tell, I am no geography major. Fuzz 40 is in SE MI, not SW MI (not sure why I thought that). But FP and crossfirefrank could still meet up. Sorry about that.

 

It might be possible for me to drive out there to meet them and follow them back to SE Michigan. Or meet another group and follow them back. At least you figured it out before you had me meeting someone in Indiana.

 

I pm FP this week to see if he wanted to meet in Jackson (live there) on his way. He going to take I-94 to get to detroit and it goes right thru Jackson.

That is something I would like to do and it has already been suggested, I think we could arrange that and head out with a group or pick up people along the way, depending on where people are located. I am just dying to get a group together headed down the highway. I know what attention 1 Crossfire gets on the highway, I can only imagine what a thrill it would be for a caravan headed to Detroit. I'm really getting the itch for good weather !!!

OK... just found this thread and I'm going to try and see if I can make it. Once you guys get a hotel picked out please let me know so I can make reservations... i would prefer the marriott but what ever works best is fine by me.
