It's official at least two of the three amigos are coming to the Dragon.
Me and Crossfirefrank will to be arriving on Thursday afternoon.
Frank has reserved a room for 3 nights.
If FP can make it all three amigos will be arriving together.
Rolling in with 2 Roadsters and a Coupe.
We will depart sometime on Sunday afternoon for our return trip.

I have a pair of radios as well that I will be bringing.

 

How many do we need. I can try to bring mine. I say try because I lent them to my son and it may be an adventure to find them.

 

I was just wondering who was going to arrive Thursday and if they would like to get together with Gary,FP (hopefully) and myself and have dinner or something.

 

My wife and I hope to be there around 3:00 on Thursday.

When will you be arriving to Fontana Lodge?
Frank and I (and hopefully FP) will be arriving Thursday afternoon.
We would like to have dinner with any other early birds arriving that day.
Any plan in place for a Thursday dinner meet in the works ??

About 1/2 Dozen so far with your 2-3 cars, (8-10 People).

I will get new numbers & days, etc from the Lodge on about the 15th.
We could get a lot more jumping on the Bandwagon this last 4 weeks.
A lot of Drivers are on the Fence right now!

I can't come there until after 1pm on Friday, I need to stay in communications, Net & Phone, for all the Last minute Crisis's & ????'s!

You'll have no prob at the Mountain View Bistro Dining Room or the Wildwood Grill!

We should have at least 5 or 6 pairs, I would think, the more cars the more radios, as we'll break into more groups, one pair of radios for each Group! SF

 

Most of them are AA. I'll be bringing a 24 pack or two myself so we should be covered for power.

I have tossed around Gary and I coming to the spring Tail of the Dragon meet, but dang....kids, school, work and a dog-it's not looking very promising for the spring. Fall looks much better. I'm still trying to see if I could arrange it all and we can come.

On a separate note I emailed the people who have the site in that old post about trucks and driving, here is their response:
Ann:
The trucks are really no problem for alert drivers. There is only one a
day at most and they are traveling slow. Every accident involving a
truck was the car/cycles fault. They run into the truck after it has
stopped. It you are reasonably alert and going somewhat near the speed
limit you'll have fun and no problems. It is actually safer than driving
on the Interstate.

From everything I can see it will be an excellent time. Maybe I could tape the dog and kids to a wall for the weekend, what trouble could they get into then???
--> I think the question is what trouble will I be in when I get home!
