1st annual Spring 2008 "Tail of the Dragon" meet - April 4, 5, 6
Bill, with a great deal of reluctance, due to work related issues, I will
not be able to attend the GTG this weekend. Hope you all have a really
good time... and no tickets!

Just wanted to let everyone know that Jane, Barb, Gary and Julie all made it back without incident or tickets.
We all had such a great time and it was certainly a pleasure to meet you all. I look forward to seeing all the pictures.
I you are ever in Southern Indiana, please let us know as we would love to visit with you again,

Glad to know you're all home safe.
Thanks for all you did at the Lodge & the Dragon Run!
Hope you can come to another one soon we would all love to have you.
My Best,
Bill
Home safe and hey we're DRY! Next to a hurricane in Florida this was the all time most, hardest and longest days of rain we have ever been in. Then this morning it was sunny and getting warm
and we had to get going home.
But we had a great time, thanks to all of Bill's hard work , the members who attended and the Fontana Resort which did an excellent job. There were personalities and ages of every kind and all we saw were smiles and Crossfires, well a fair amount of beer too but we won't talk about that

Gary here,
Just checkin in to let everyone know I made it home safely in about 10 hours driving today.
I want to say thanks to all who attended this spring meet and I enjoyed meeting each and every one of you.
These meets are the best.
A group of people who are only connected by two common things...
The Crossfire and the Internet.
If you missed this one be sure to make plans to attend the fall meet Oct 31 and Nov 1 & 2 (Halloween weekend)
Two people I want to make special thanks to here ....
Bill (Silverfox) for the time and effort and personal finance's in making this meet happen.
JaneBridges for her excellent driving skills in leading me and a group of about 12 others on the 118 mile "Big Loop Run". She was considerate of everyone who followed to see that we all remained together and found are way through the foggy mountains which actually proved to be a true test of everyones driving skills. It was a blast even without the beautiful scenery.
Also special thanks go out to the Fontana Lodge and staff.
It is a great place to stay in the mountains and the atmosphere is very appealing.
The food was great and reasonably priced. It is a great escape from everyday life for sure.
Also wanted to mention that I tracked my fuel and total miles.
My best tank was 30.3 mpg WOW !!
Overall I traveled a total of 1449 miles and used 56.9 Gallons
Average overall was 25.4 mpg.
This includes mountain driving and highway too.

Hello to everyone that was at the meet.
Had a great time there. Met some nice friendly folks. The dragon claimed one of our own; however, everyone else experienced the slaying of the beast. Great job to those who made it. Silver Fox, hope you will be O.K. the next few days. Sorry to see you damaged your beautiful car. A limited edition 2006 SRT6 you mentioned would be a great Fox IV.
See you in the fall.

I just wanted to tell everyone who attended the 1st Annual Spring “Tail of the Dragon” Meet that it was great to meet so many good people who love their Crossfires.
For those who missed this meet, try to fit the fall meet into your schedule. The Dragon is waiting for you.
I ran the Dragon 4 times and it was an experience each time; however, I wish the weather could have been better. . . . .
I tracked my mpg’s and I thought my car did very well. My best tank was 30.48 mpg! Average overall was 27.28 mpg and that included highway, mountains, and 4 trips on the Dragon.
Thanks Everyone, it was a great weekend get-a-way.

Would like to thank EVERYONE for such a good time. Arrived back at home, in Florida around 7:30 PM. We were poured on yesterday, 5 inch of rain over the course of the day. The night before we received 1 1/2 in. of rain, so we are wet here. So I had to extend the fins, on the Crossfire, to get it in the driveway.
They are calling for more rain this evening. Once again, what a great bunch of Crossfire owners. May we meet up again somewhere in our travels.

It was great seeing old friends and making new ones.
Lots of fun despite two days of rain (Sunday made up for it, though).
Love seeing all of those Crossfires together.
My thanks to Bill for putting this together, and to Max for the caps & Terry for the video.
See you in the fall.

We wanted to thank Bill again for his work. This was our first outing and enjoyed the meet very much. We arrived home around 6:00 pm to Charleston SC. We finally put the top down near Asheville. Dorothy and I enjoyed the company. We lost Bill on the Dragon run, but about 8 of us ran on our own. We did not make the loop but we ran back through the Dragon returning to the lodge.
I hope the Carolina group can get together again before October. Thanks for the great welcome from all the members to the "newbies"
John & Dorothy
PS I expect Bill will have a ride within a month. We thank God that He and Irwin are OK

On this second video you will hear the GPS talking
It was trying to tell me to return to the lodge
The GPS is very helpful in seeing the road ahead and knowing all the turns in advance.

Crossfirefrank below was razzin Silverfox (Bill) above about the weather predictions he had been making and we all were laughing. Bill was once a meteorologist and predicted the weather and the updates kept changing by the hour and Frank was razzin him about it. Frank said thats what all meteorologists do.
