Chicagoland Meet & Downtown Cruise June 21
OK for our June meet we will be looking for everyone who is able to attend on Sunday June 21
for a Chi-town downtown cruise including a run along the beautiful lakefront on Lake Shore Drive.
Details and meeting points for those attending will be arranged once we know who is coming.
The plan is to run from a central point in the suburbs as a group to downtown Chicago.
We are also going to try to arrange some private parking off Lake Shore Drive once we no how many cars we have.
Those interested in this GTG ...please post on this thread and I will create a list in post #2

You can add me to the list as usual.
Also, I was thinking. We could all meet in Oakbrook. There is plenty of space to meet at the Oakbrook mall or even the Yorktown shopping center. From there it is a straight shot down 88 to downtown.
I can look into a place to eat that we can all park by Navy Pier. Then we can cruise in to LSD on 88 and head north on LSD to Navy Pier. Then we can stop there and grab a bite to eat.
Let me know if you want me to look or if you wanna take the reigns on this one too. I'll help do whatever you need.

We will more than likely run downtown on I-55 to enter LSD from the south end and then head north to Irving Park rd with a stop near Navy pier if FP can reserve parking for us.
Oakbrook and Yorktown are certainly possible meeting points among others depending on who shows interest in coming to this event.
Meet times and eating places will need to be figured out as time gets closer and when we know who is coming and also when our final central meeting point is determined.
It will take some coordinating but I know it will work out and look forward to a good meet

This promises to be a great event. Nothing like a nice drive up and down Lake Shore Drive. All I have to do is work with the park district on parking.

Sundays are tuff for me to cruise up to see you guys, but I will keep this date open and see what happens...but I doubt I can skip a Monday rt now...and I would have to do that in order to enjoy a Sunday in Chitown...

Well we considered Saturday but felt Sundays were easier for everybody. So this open a good opportunity for all to express their preferences on future meets. Saturdays or Sundays?

oh don't change it because of me. I will make one sooner or later, I just have that 3 and half hour drive home I dread...so I would prolly spend the night if you guys keep me out too late....LOL>>>>

Hey guys, we would be willing to do a lunch BBQ at our "NEW" shop that day and use the shop for a meeting spot if needed! We have parking for over 20+ cars easily!

A very generous offer but we hope to be downtown by the lunch hour on Sunday.
We plan to organize a meet each month this summer so maybe a upcoming meet will be an option to hook up at your shop.

I have marked the calendar, does any one know if there are any big events down town on that date? Tough travel down there when blues fest or the taste is going on.
