Default Proposal on a Meeting and Seminar on Aiming Headlights ... Chicagoland area.

Is there any interest to have a GTG somewhere in the Chicago area, and incorporate a group headlight aiming procedure. Because we have longer night-time hours, and will be using our headlights more, it would be great to have the lights aimed correctly. Many have replaced bulbs with halogens or HIDs, and this may be a worthwhile event. The ideal place would allow us to have a level floor and a vertical wall that is at least 25ft in front of the headlight units. An inside location would be best, because of the possibility of weather conditions. The wall area needs only to be marked or taped once, then each Crossfire can utilize those measurements for purpose of fine tuning the aim procedure. Any interest or/and suggestions where?

Most of the locals have stored their cars away.
As for me my lights are just the way I want them.
I spent some time after my HID's were installed adjusting them by aiming them at a loading dock on a white wall on level ground at night.
Now as for a meet to hang out and eat I'd like that
Anyone else here ??

How To Aim Projector Headlights - Club RSX Message Board

How to Aim Projector Headlights | eHow.com

I couldn't find the website, but I use an empirical method.

(Low beams only) while parked on a flat street with a number of cars parked along the side (parallel parked) I adjusted the left beam height to just lower than the level of the side/rear view mirrors. Then the right side to the 2.1 to 2.5 degree higher for ditch observation.

Seems to work for me and for those I don't blind while overtaking/following.

Thanks to the links from lildaddy and Maxichon, it seems pretty simple to DIY. Honestly ... because I have the red coupe as an everyday driver, I literally went brain dead that many of the locals have put their Crossies into hibernation for the winter. Thanks for reminding me of that Cary. DUH!!!!! Maybe at some point in the future something like a headlight aiming event could be arranged, if even just to "fine tune" the light pattern. I feel that with many people upgrading their bulbs to HIDs and Super brights, there would be a need to get it right. Just sayin .......

I'll head over there if you guys have any tech sessions in Spring/Summer/Fall.

Like Valky, my headlights are perfect, but I could meet you guys and visit a buddy of mine that just moved to Chi with the new VW field office there.

That said, here's what my roadster will be looking like until Mar/April:
