Thumbs down Lambo Doors??

I'm really considering upgrading to lambo doors. Has anyone else done it? What would be the best hardware to use? I heard there are power, remote lambo door kits...has anyone heard of these before??? Thanks for any replies or info!!! Bob

I assume as you're posting this in the Roadster forum you've got a Roadster? Don't know if it makes a difference or not but I would question whether this is even feasible with a Roadster. Don't know if you can do it with the loss of the Coupe structure and added rigidity you have with the coupe. Thats the first thing I'd find out.

Why go with the Lambo doors? Instead look into what MB has done with the SLR. Butterfly doors. Make it look more likes its bigger faster brother.

Agreed. It's a better look, IMO, if it can be done mechanically with the existing structures.

IMO This isn't exactly the definition of butterfly doors. I'm going to look for a pic. Butterfly doors are anchors in the roof and come straight over the opening.

Here is an other example of a very nice lambo or scissor doors.

I must disagree. What you are describing are known as Gull wing Doors. They had them on the Delorean. They look like this.

See how the Lambo doors actually open by going straight up.

Where Butterfly doors actually go out and up.

A Butterfly or Gullwing door is the same type of door. Lambo or scissor door are like all the ones shows previously. I think we are on the same page on this unless you consider the MB SLR to be a true Butterfly/Gullwing door. If that's the case I still stand by my definition...

Wash it a lot, use Meguiar's Clear Coat Paste Wax and try not to get it dirty.
