Tell me please
I have an '05 Crossfire roadster, and it's a great car, but there's a couple things on it that I wonder about, but I don't know who to ask. I am quite the perfectionist, and since I've got this amazing car, I want it to be in perfect shape. Being the perfectionist that I am, I notice little things that start to bug me like crazy. One of the things I've noticed is that behind the steering wheel, where the wheel-cover wraps around the steering column, there is a larger gap on the right side than on the left. You can tell this by running your finger along the back of your steering wheel where it fits around the column. If you press your fingers against it, you can feel the distance. I am dying to know if the car is made that way or if there's something wrong with mine (i did get it used). Also, where the 2 windshield struts (the A-beams which hold the windshield in place and attach to either side of the dashboard) attach to the dash, there is a difference. There's a larger gap between the bottom of the plastic molding on the strut and the dashboard on the right side and nearly no space between them at all on the left. Can someone please look on their Crossfire and examine it closely and come tell me if you find anything of these sorts on yours? Be honest too, because I would love to know that the car is made that way and nothing ever happened to it.

Sorry to tell you but I don't have a gap or misalignment anywhere on the car. If I'm looking at what your describing properly the interior is as tight as a drum. Did you do a CarFax report on your car before you bought it? I wouldn't necessarily assume its an accident perhaps the dash was removed to correct a problem behind it. I'd bring it back to where you got it and start asking questions.
Can you take pics of what you're talking about? I have a roadster and I looked at my car, and I don't think I have the same issues you're worried about, but then again, I'm not sure what I'm looking for.
I have an ‘05 Roadster and the answer to your question is YES IN BOTH CASES. At least I think so. The stitching along th back of my steering wheel is not perfect and I just changed my windshield wipers this weekend and each arm is a different shape.
Hope this helps.
Hope this helps.
The steering wheel is the same on both sides, but the A-pillar cover, inside, has a larger gap on the passanger side than on the driver's side. The difference is minimal, but I imagine that it will bug me from now on. As my kids would say, Thanks a lot.
