Default Musicians: What fits in your roadster trunk?

I can fit a Les Paul IF;

1) It's in a gig bag,

and

2) The top is up, with the trunk divider forward.

Dobro, too funny...have never even tried...have a Martin HD28, Gibson ES137 Classic, and a Taylor 512 CE. I wouldn't dream of putting any of them in a gig bag. They always ride shot-gun with me!

Bottom line, can't answer your question because I'm too chicken to put any of them in the gig bag for transport.

Nice call on the HD28, probably one of the best sounding instruments Martin has ever made, and it's Tim Reynold's Martin of choice. I have a Martin DM and a PRS Custom 24, both of which I can fit in my Coupe, but then again I don't have the drop top.

I can get a couple pairs of 'Vic Firth' sticks into the trunk area of my coupe! But a whole Pearl Export drum set has never been very transport friendly anyway!

If you put drumsticks on the dashboard, you're allowed to park in the Handicapped zone!

I kid because I love.

Hey now...I resemble that remark! I know when the stage is level...that's when I have equal amounts of drool coming out each side of my mouth...

I dusted off this old thread because I started pulling gear out of my trunk at a gig, and a witness said it was like watching clowns pile out of a Mini Cooper. My trunk now contains:

*A Les Paul in a gig bag

*A Tele in a gig bag

*2 QuickLok guitar stands

*A backpack full of accessories (tuner, cables, setlists, etc).

...I make the other guitarist haul my amp.

Cool Re: Musicians: What fits in your roadster trunk?

I tried to fit my 'travel' guitar in the trunk w/the top down - no go - could probably fit a couple of my smaller amps in there but wouldn't and would not drive the car w/the top up if I can help it - bottom line - the guitar has to ride shotgun and strapped...probably could strap the traveler in between the 2 seats if some pretty girl was riding w/me...

With the top up I can get a tele or strat in a hard shell case...

With the top down... forget it.

My J-200 rides shotgun.

I couldn't even begin to get mine in the trunk. I had to choose between my guitar or my wife. I sure did miss her!

Seriously, I have no problem carrying 3 or 4 harmonicas in their hard cases.....will usually fit in the glove box or console with no problem. And, yes, I do play. Even though I don't have a roadster, I'm sure they would fit just as nicely.

Speaking of bodies in the trunk...that glow-in-the-dark pull handle for the trunk latch cracks me up. If you're tall enough to climb into the trunk, you're too big to fit in it.

I know what I can't fit:

My violin case. The case is too darn long.

I haven't transported more than an acoustic in a gig bag so far.

I don't see myself getting my 5 piece Export kit in there, although the bass drum is only 20" x 18", so maybe on the passenger seat with a soft case?

I downsized my amps after college from a couple 212 cabs to a Line 6 112 and a 12" Peavey Keyboard amp. It will be easy to fit the V-Drums in there though. They don't take up much space when disassembled.

It'll be interesting to see what people have crammed in there. How is everyone at Tetris
