AMG Badge
Has anyone ever seen an AMG badge on the trunk of a Crossfire? I'm looking at purchasing a 2005 limited, and instead of Crossfire on the trunk it has AMG. Didn't know if this may have been aftermarket or if they made a few with this badging?
um... do not see many crossfire and those that I do don't have any aftermarket whatsoever... ebay has some decent amg badges once in a while, but none as of now... other than the badges that come stock in Mercedes AMG cars... as for your car its an after market badge which he probably bought over at ebay a similar site, or possibly had custom made at some store...
but there is a forum member who has an amg badge on the trunk of his crossfire don't remember who it is other than that its a alabaster model... and possibly a roadster might very well be the person who you are purchasing the car from... the only real miss... here is that alabaster was never offered as a color for the AMG version of the car... so if i am right about the car being alabaster than it is false badging...

Thanks for replying so fast. The car is 1 owner from Charleston, SC and is metallic grey. Did they actually make Limited Roadsters with AMG badging, and if so, were there physical changes? The car also has a plate attached to the floor of the trunk that reads "Crossfire". Thanks for your help!
Base or Limited Crossfires, Coupes or Roadsters never came with an AMG badge from the factory. The SRT6 is the only Crossfire that is an AMG product, and it does not come with an AMG badge from the factory.
No crossfire was ever made with amg badging, but the srt crossfires are all amg cars, but without amg badging... the car you are attempting to purchase is falsely badging as this car has absolutely nothing from amg so it makes you wonder what is the purpose of the badge... a plate attached to the floor of the trunk that reads crossfire?!??! If you are talking about the inside of the trunk... then it is the after market and if you are talking about the crossfire badging on the trunk from the outside than that is standard on all crossfires...
It seams as if you are buying a car with slight modifications you might want to ask some questions about it and I will do my best to explain the mods as neither of these things that you mentioned are standard on the car there maybe other things that the driver has added, but the amg badging definitely raises some questions...
Hope this helps.

No such thing.
The srt6 crossfire had an amg engine. It was badged as "SRT6".
The limited has the Mercedes 320 v6 nothing to do with amg.
Plain and simple someone stuck a badge on it that doesn't belong.
If it was an srt6 it would not be too out of place but on a limited it is just silly.

it was Branded AMG instead of the chrysler badge.
he said there was a small number produced this way. (I think the number he heard was 40)

your friend was lied to so they could get more money
I don't even like when people put Benz Star stickers on over the Chrysler badge. Just enjoy it for what it is. And putting an AMG on ANYTHING other than a real AMG is just "small hands" syndrome.
Additionally, putting a Mercedes-Benz or AMG badge on a non-Mercedes vehicle is generally disrespected and seen as misleading. (It's 80 %, very close)
