As for my home, I have 3 (soon to be 4 when I buy a xf) I've got a '05 Durango limited Hemi, an '03 Quad cab 1500 4x4 hemi and a '68 Plymouth Barracuda bored 340. J |
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
'06 Magnum R/T with 340 hp hemi. It's the wife's car, but it can go. I tried to talk her into the SRT8, but she thought the mileage was too low and the exhaust was too polluting.

Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
Besides the Crossfire we have an '05 300 touring soon to be a 300C or 300 SRT8.

Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
Does a Town and Country mini van count as a MOPAR? Oh yeah a second CROSSFIRE... if a CROSSFIRE COUNTS AS A mopar.
|
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
The '04 Crossfire, a 1996 Viper GTS, my 1969 AMX, and a 1968 AMX (that needs restored).
OK, I know they didn't start out being Mopars, but Chrysler purchased AMC 20 years ago, so technically, that makes em Mopars now. ;) |
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
A 1996 Dodge Ram Sport w/200k on the odometer. Still running strong. Hope my crossfire is as trouble free as the Ram has been.
|
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
My XFire & a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited.
|
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
Calling the crossfire a Mopar car is like calling the new Jags, Fords! Shouldn't be done!! The only thing ford in the Jags is the money invested, and vice-versa with the XF. My $.02

Yes, my Crossfire was purchased from a Chrysler dealer as a new car made by Chrysler, but I know that it had the sheet with it that says it has 89% German content, was built by Karmann in Germany, has mostly Mercedes parts, design, and heritage from a SLK 320, and the car itself knows that it is basically a Mercedes with a different label on it and is very happy with it (I can tell that by the way she likes to drive, perform, and makes me smile like a maniac when I drive it :D). I don't give a damn that it says Chrysler. I am just ecstatic that I am lucky enough to own and enjoy one. |

Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
As a true old school "Mopar" guy, (I was a Mopar guy when Mopars were not considered cool) only cars from the 70's back are considered "Mopars" Even the Turbo 2.2 era cars are not truly considered by the hardcore. No way on the crossfire/Jeeps/AMCs etc. That being said I am looking to purchase a SRT-6 roadster for my wife to join my Charger SRT-8, SRT-4 ACR autocross car, 53' Plymouth Wagon (Hot rodded flat head 6), 50' Chrysler custom (440 OD auto 4WDB), 98' Jeep Wrangler(Rock Crawler), 98' Grand Cherokee 5.9, 99' Ram 2500 (V10 Baby), 69' Dart Swinger 340, 69' 440+6 4 Spd Superbee. The Crossfire will fill the place vacated by my recently sold Petty Blue 440 +6 4 Spd Superbird.

Personally I think this "Crossfire really a Mopar?" question, is purely academic. The way I see it, they let us into the Mopar Nationals, so I guess that means that somebody, somewhere, or the "powers that be" must consider it a Mopar. So I'm not going to argue with them. :) Mopar (like FoMoCo for Ford, or GM for General Motors) is just the name that appears on a box, when ever you order a part from your dealers parts dept. Just to show it's a genuine "factory built part". Somewhere down the line it became synonymous with all that is Chrysler. Whether you're talkin Plymouth, Dodge, Desoto, Chrysler, or even Chrysler Marine. Now I think the question that would be more apropos, is whether or not any actual "replacement" parts that you may order for your Crossfire ever come in a "Genuine Mopar" box. |

Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
Mopar fan as well.
I have my '05 Crossfire limited Aeroblue roadster. And a '04 yellow Neon SRT-4. |
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
Right now I have an SRT-8 (look at the video on my sig link to see how well it does on the track) and I just bought a brand new 2005 XF. Yep, brand new.
So you know, if you're looking for a new XF...DCX warehoused 2006 XFs because dealers would not take them. Too expensive for them to inventory. Right now DCX is auctioning them off to 5 star dealers only. You can score SRT-6s, Ltds and base models in the mid to low $20s. For the money this is a GREAT car! Solid and fun to drive! Love this forum too. I've already killed my ESP and seatbelt chime. Thank you all for contributing your experiences! |
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
i just traded in the '04 srt4 on a srt6 but still have the '91 twin turbo stealth and the '86 glh turbo omni in the driveway.

Actually it's engineless right now. Engine is in the shop as we speak. Glad to see a true fellow moparhead in the forum. ;) |
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
I've also got a 2004 PT Cruiser Turbo. Same engine as the Neon SRT4 and I've added the Stage 1 upgrade, cat back dual exhaust, and a few other bits. Even in the blistering heat and gale force headwinds usually encountered at the California Speedway dragstrip it's run 14.4 @ 94 mph in the 1/4 mile. I haven't had a single issue with it either.

Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
The other car is a '91 Dodge Spirit R/T.

Jag is Ford XF is Benz Stealth RT Twin Turbo is a Mitsubishi 3000GT or GTO if you JDM nut huggers prefer. Basically, if the has a name on it, that's what it is. And for the record, I gave up another Mopar to get this one, but I have no others right now. I have the SRT-6, '06 S2000 and an '04 Grand Marguis (inherited). |
Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?

Re: Other than X-Fire, any other Mopars in your Garage ?
You guys and your semantics...
If you really want to get into it: The same company that made our Crossfires also made tanks for the Germans in WWII. Mitsubishi built the Zero's that attacked pearl harbor. IMO, if it says Chrysler it's a Chrysler! Oh Yea...I almost forgot why I was on this thread...I also own a '86 Dakota (first year) in pristine condition, and a '60 DeSoto Adventurer (pulled the original 383 for a 413 longhorn cross-ram). And I DO consider my DeSoto a chrysler product! (need proof...look at the same year Chrysler 300)! |
