Default Totaled crossfire

I found out today my crossfire ('06 crossfire limited roadster) is going to be totaled, Uggg. I was run off the road into mud and there was a ditch that V'ed in. The car was grabed by the sides of the ditched and rapidly stoped. Passenger seatbelt bolt was ripped away. He got a very sore ribcagebut is fine now I got a compression fracture in my back out of the event.

Massive frame damage, the ditch squeezed the front in 7 inches. Funny thing is airbags never went off because of the impact sensors never being hit.

Question, does anyone have an idea on what I could expect from the insurance company ? I will not know this for a few days. I am worried about that as I have no gap coverage.

I will be posting a sprint booster (manual) and 2 MB airboxs one with green filters as soon as I get over to the car in the next few days.

Looking at a CTS as a replacement, yes I know not even close to the same type of car. There is a used CTS-V there that I am trying to justify owning.

Hope you got new car replacement clause built in. The way prices are falling on Crossfires...

Sorry to hear that.
Let me know what you want for the MB airboxes. Also, what kinda of performance change did you see/feel.
What color is the lower dash - specifically the piece under the steering wheel with the knee bolster on it - I'm interested in that too.

Sorry to hear about your accident. That's AWFUL.

Health care costs could be much, much higher than the value of your car. Hopefully the cost to rehabilitate is covered by your insurance!! As for loan-to-value, you should be able to figure it out using KBB and your current loan value. I don't think insurance companies will change prices even if they are discounted - the cars are still *worth* 10,000 more than they are selling for! (the car manufacturers just pay the dealers up front for part of the cost of the car!!) It doesn't make a difference how much you PAID, it's how much the cars are worth.

Glad you're thinking about your next car and not immobilized.

Yes, I am so glad to hear you and your passenger are ok. Human life is so much more important than a car. Best of luck to you.

No picture? I hit a deer back in June and was w/o my Crossfire for 3 weeks. I know what the withdrawal is like...especially where the insurance company gave me a green Aztek for a rental vehicle. Talk about a humbling experience. Make it worse it rained almost all that time so I couldn't ride my v-rod.

As far as insurance settlement...that's hard to say. If it is not book value contact authorities. Maybe you can part out the wreck. I could use the front rims if they are not mangled. I've never seen a Crossfire in a junkyard.

The only good news may be that is you were to replace it with another CRossfire, it might be comparing apples to apples. Even though you might get less, in theory you should be able to buy another Crossfire for less?
Best wishes in your recovery

Unhappy Re: Totaled crossfire

Please be careful out there on the roads. It's easy to get carried away. I got a speeding ticket this morning on way to work while driving a loaner car from Carmax. My SRT-6 is in the shop.

I was also thinking of buying a CTS-V or another Vette before buying my Xfire. The CTS-V is known for rear axle hop and a crappy looking interior but other than that it's supposed to be a great car. Good luck with whatever you decide. Glad you're ok.

Main thing is your okay, it's kind of weird no air bags went off though with all the sensors on these cars. I sort of got ran off the road last Feb. and totaled out my 04 coupe, the passangers bag went off, but the drivers side didn't. I really couldn't believe it was totaled, it was leased so the insurance deal would probably be different. The insurance company paid off the rest of the lease & I had to pay $400 to Chrysler. I seen it for sale in a magazine about 3 months later at a place that sells wrecked cars, the ad said light front & bag damage , the picture was from the side and it didn't look too bad. They had beat the hood down & pulled off the front cover off.
