Post New to CrossfireForum

Hi to all…

Paul here

New to the forum and looking forward to many happy days with the best car I’ve seen in a long time. I bought my 2005 Roadster Limited on October 28, 2007 and didn’t think anything could stop me from driving her every day and all day, but the truth is she has been in the shop of 20 days being repaired. What could have caused such a drastic time lapse you ask??

Friday November 30th I mailed the first payment and Saturday December 1st at 9 am a “so and so” pulled out in front of me, across my lane, and stopped. How does someone not look and just pull out of a driveway and block traffic??

I was flying, and if not for the ABS braking, would have center-punched him. But the car helped control a turn towards the rear of his car and I slid into his rear corner and then bounced into the curb, jamming the front right wheel a little back and under. Scared me bad at the time!! You think back in hind sight and talk trash in your mind and to others about he should have got this or I wanted to do that to him. The truth was if you try going 40 or 50 MPH and have a car block your lane from out of no where. Scared is the best and most polite word that comes to mind…

My insurance company paid for all the repairs and last night I got her back in like new condition. New front rotors and new brake pads up front, two new tires and two new rims. New lower control arm fixed the tire position and a new front bumper and she’s as good as new but oh what a cost!!!

Well this looks kind of long and windy but it felt good to vent. It just goes to show that the Crossfire is a well made car. In my opinion it helped protect me and that “so and so” from injuries, no one was hurt at all, just mechanical damage and it could have been much worse…

Signing of for now,
Happy Holidays to all,

Welcome to the forum...

Look at the bright side...at least you don't have to wait for that first little "incident" that makes you not feel like your car is new anymore!

I'm glad the way things turned out for you. Many others here have had many obstacles come their way when trying to get their cars repaired or service and waited longer to get them back to.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your Crossfire.

Hi Paul, I'd welcome you but I might be stepping out of line...I'm a newbie (to the forum) myself.

The sad reality is is we have to drive while anticipating what the worst move an idiot driver can make, and there are plenty of them out there.

We had a motor cyclist killed here last summer. Plowed into the back of a truck...From how and where it happened my gut feeling is that the truck backed out of his drive into the path of the crotch rocket.

Heres something to think about... A friend once told me never worry about anything money can fix...If money can fix it, it's really not the important stuff... It's good to learn you are okay.

Cheers!
