Default Extended MaxCare Warranty

I bought my new roadster one week ago today. They tried to sell me a third party warranty which I declined. I am interested in the MaxCare warranty. Does anyone now how much this should cost me and where the best place to purchase this is? I just feel better about having the Chrysler extended warranty vs. a third party one.

Personally I would rather have a good third party one. This way you can take it to any shop of your choice, including a MB shop.

Just my 2 centavos.

I would have to say the opposite...there are a lot of service shops that do not accept all thrid party providers. Check very carefully before purchasing.

As for you request you can purchase here: http://www.chryslerwarrantys.com/

You can find pricing based on year and mileage.. if you are ready to purchase sign up for "promos" and they will email a code for a few hundred dollars off.

I bought a Chrysler Maxicare from the dealer for $1650. It has paid for itself in one year twice over. Contact todk64 on this forum. He will get you one for the best price most members have found. I've have a dealer with an excellent service department and there are a couple of others in the area. If you have a third-party warranty, you can take your XF to an MB shop, but no MB dealership will work on them, at least no dealership that I've found in the Washington, DC metro area. I live a couple of miles from the 4th largest in the country and the only thing they will do with a XF is take it in on trade; no service.

I had a very good experience with www.chryslerservicecontracts.com. Got the best price I could find after an extensive search. You can get an immediate quote on line and then follow up on the 800 number. The contract can be finalized within minutes with a credit card. Yes, it is an official Chrysler Maximum Care contract.

I think that it would be wise to get an extended contract on any Crossfire that qualifies. The power train warranty (even if it is life time) just will not cover all of the expensive repairs that can or will pop up on these vehicles.

I got the service plan for an '04 Coupe with about 5000 miles in Dec. 07 for $1380. That was for a 7yr/60K w/$0 deductible. I think the 70Kmi would have been $150 or so more. The $100 deductible was couple hundred less. Best price I could find, and I did an extensive search. It certainly doesn't hurt to get quotes from several places. Local dealers in my area were much much higher. I think you could also do a payment plan if you want.

Thanks for all of the tips. I think I'm going to try purchasing from chryslerservicecontracts.com. I'll call them this week. I've been told that since my car already has the lifetime powertrain warranty that it is slightly cheaper. We'll see..

That web site and 800 Tel. number is operated by Michael Case for Champion Chrysler / Jeep / Dodge of Barrington, Illinois. My understanding is that’s all Mr. Case does for them. I continue to recommend him and would be surprised if anyone could find a better price for a Maximum Care Service Contract.

I agree. I bought mine from them and it was the best price I could find.

If you don'y already know, the number of years for the service contract starts at your 'in service date'. So, if you get the 7 year, it will give you 4 more years beyond the 3 year bumper to bumper. I would recommend getting the most years possible. That is probably 7 years for you. I went for the 60k miles like you, because I know I won't put that many miles on it in 3.5 to 4 more years. Another thing. When you get your quote, the base and limited are Class I specialty vehicles, and the SRT is a Class II. So, for you I think that adds a bit of cost if you didn't select that option. Michael Case, is very easy and quick to work with, and he will explain the options in detail. I will have to say, that in my 48 years of car experience, he gave me the best 'Dealer' experience I have ever had.

Thank you for the advice. I did remember to select the Class I specialty vehicle. I might get the 7 year if the price is right. Does anyone know if this warranty is transferrable?

I think that if you are the 1st owner, it is. However, I beleive that if you are a second owner and you paid the $150 to transfer the powertrain warranty, then it might not be. Your can also, pay a bit more for a contract that allows you to get your money back at the end, if you never use it.

Mine was cheaper as I already had the powertrain warranty as well.
