Impressing the ladies
My wife's sister and our niece were in town the last day or two. After church today it was sunny and almost 60 so I took them for rides. Getting on the freeway I had the chance to demonstrate some acceleration. My niece's eyes became as big as saucers and I got a great big "WOW." Angie agreed it was a "super fun car." Have not had many really nice days to drop the top so I take advantage of every close opportunity.
How fast do they really go? I had thought about finding out myself around Ocala where I live but it is just too crowded. Plus there's really no stretches where I can get to the 150mph indicated in the manual and still have some margin for safety. If I lived in Montana this wouldn't be an issue...
What's the top speed some of you maniacs have experienced?

I had a highway patrol person come over to where I was parked waiting, said she loved the crossfire and how it was a "cute car" .... hahaha
The last car I had that was this cool was my '57 t-bird. Took the wife in it to a drive in theater once and during intermission a sweet lass came up behind me and ran her fingers through my hair (with my wife sitting right there) and said "Love your car mister."
Cathy didn't hesitate for a second, "we are selling the T-Bird." That was the one and only time that the car had AC.
It was the last time we ever went there in the Bird.
Now, I've got the Xfire but as far as I know, there aren't any drive in theaters around St. Louis. Love to try that again.
Cathy probably wouldn't go anyway...

See you around town

My hair is one of those things for which my habit of procrastination has proven useful. Still have most of it hanging around although I don't have the long locks anymore. And it's very gray.

I had my 2005 limited up to 151 mph. The top was down. No passenger. Some luggage. GPS confirmed on the top speed. The speedometer and the GPS have always shown the same speed.
The car pulled well all the way up. This was on a deserted highway in the dessert between California and Arizona. I wouldn't do it again because of all the laws that breaks. Speeding being the least of the tickets.
Afterward I got the best mileage of the trip from the next tank of gas. Must have cleaned out any soot deposits.

138 mph on the Cherohola Skyway at over one mile altitude in acloud at the last Tail of the Dragon GTG; stayed smooth as silk, but by 140 mph, I think I would have required new diapers.
