Why can't I get a aftermarket cold air intake to work on my Crossfire?
I am new to crossfireforum. It's a great source of info. and i hope someone can help me. I recently bought a used 2005 Crossfire with 15,000 miles on it and it looks flawless. I bought a cold air intake system for it off of E-Bay. After installing the new air system I noticed improved sound and horsepower/torque. Two days later my crossfire is dying out and the RPMs are inconsistant. I put the stock air system back on and sent the car to Chyrsler. They said that my mass air sensor went out. Did I just have bad luck or did the aftermarket intake system cause the problem. I see other cars on this website with aftermarket air intake systems and feel jealous. I miss the sound and the horse power of the cold air intake system. Do I have to change out the stock mass air sensor? Some body help me please...
Thanks.
Thanks.
Sorry to hear about that. Wow, that is strange. I've replaced my stock intakes all my life in all my cars without incident. Did you have to oil the new filter which usually comes pre-oiled? Maybe some of it got into the maf which would make sense. Other than that, it could just have been a bad coincidence. Hopefully it is covered under some kind of warranty.
We'll se what others have to say.
No this Happen to me too . The dealer said it may have been a bad part from the start . That was over year and half ago . Ruuning fine now !
