Default Weatherstrip split !$$

Hi all,
I have not started a thread before as I always find the answers to my questions in the search but I can't see anything on this. I had a piece of rubber sticking out on the passenger side where the roof meets the body. I checked it out and the roof weatherstrip has split and left a 2" gap. The strip goes from one side window around the back and up the other side. (#7 in diagram) Anyone else had this happen? Anyone replaced it themselves? Part alone looks like it is over 600.00! Thanks, Ron

I just thoroughly cleaned my weather stripping for the top.

It's very important to keep that xtra clean, and well coated with silicone or armarol.

There have been a few threads where these were replaced under warranty. Check for post in the detail shop section. Not sure how they were listed though.

Thanks - I have looked through the last couple years in the detail shop section but havent seen anything yet. Mine is out of warranty. Will have to check further but don't think I can glue back together or replace it myself.

Are you thinking perhaps of the tape strip? There was a TSB about replacement under warranty for wrinkling.
