Default Black Rubber Lining On Roadster

Ok, so this one may have already been asked! I have an 05 roadster and notice that the rubber lining that outlines my softtop when the top is down is faded. Hope you get what i mean by this! Not exactly sure what it is called! Do you know if its possible to replace it with a new one? Do they sell it? If so, where? Or has anyone done anything on their cars to bring the color back to a newer black?

If you do a search you will find quite a few different products that people have used. I just used Armor All natural finish on mine last week and it looks like new.

It is possible to replace it. But I get good results with Meguiar's Gold Class Trim Detailer.

I just had mine replaced under warranty on Monday. It was starting to crumple up front where the little "wings" (not sure how to better describe this) pop out when the top is down. I had fading on my old one. Armor All seemed to bring it back to life, but I would have to apply at least once a month or so to keep the black look.

I used that Tire Wet stuff & I haven't had to retouch it in a long time.

Ditto, I had our's replaced under warranty and found Armoral or any other product like it will touch it up like new. In other words both are correct. Have at it, good luck!

I have the same problem. I was thinking of using shoe polish. Has anyone tried anything like this or am I crazy? I want something that lasts longer than a day or two!

If your roadster is graphite - and the strip gets discolored enough - it kinda just blends into the car! Mines beginning to look like that

Mine is doing the same thing. How does the replacement look?
