High pitched noise - air coditioner
I have an automatic 2005 limited soft-top with 22,000 miles. Just today, it developed an intermittent high-pitched noise. The noise is variable in duration, and it is not predictable when it will occur. I have found that it will only occur when the air conditioner is on. The air conditioner blows cold air and does not make any noise (except this high-pitched noise). The noise is on the inside of the car, not under the hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check the blower motor, there have been some owners that have had the same issue and it turned out to be the blower motor (fan). If you do a search you may find some threads on the issue.
First of all - Thanks to everyone submitting a reply. Although I originally thought the noise was tied to the air-conditioner (because I could stop it by turning off the air-conditioner), I have found that it is tied to the vacuum. It takes about 2-3 minutes from start-up before the first noise starts. After taking the foot off the gas, a noise is made. Pushing on the accelerator causes the noise to go away. I can turn the air-conditioner off and make the noise stop. The noise is not constant. On a highway drive, the noise does not come on. Driving in town has the noise coming off and on. The noise is not always the same loudness, sometimes it is very faint and sometimes it is very annoying loud. I am hoping I will not have to take it to Chrysler to figure out what is wrong. Thanks
My SRT started doing this right after we got back from the GTG in St. Louis. I'm really glad it waited till after the 6000 mile trip.
I haven't gotten it fixed yet because it's mostly quit doing it on it's own...and I'd rather spend the money on go-fast stuff anyway.
My 2005 Roadster is at the dealer for a non-operational A/C. Clutch engages, but no cold air and no load on the engine.
Thank heavens for Max Care!
