Default buying after market warranty

What do you think about aftermarket warranties? I'm not concerned about anything but the covertable top, all the hydraulics and limit switches...........should i be? Please share your thoughts is it worth $2K for the 5 years? I am considering but would appreciate your comments.

Thanks for the reply but no dealer info. Does it cover all the top movements?

I don't think any after market warranty will cover the top in full (someone please correct me if I am wrong.).

Talked to the Ziegler group out of IL and they cover all moving parts of the top, no cloth.

I bought my first and only car warranty on my 2005 roadster because of the convertible mechanism. I don't overuse it -- the top is generally down for the summer with the car garaged and covered. I bet it does not cycle more than 20 times a year. But absolutely zero problems with this car in 4 summers and 33k miles, other than the single recall (and a TPM light that won't go off). If I had it to do again, I would not buy the warranty.

With the costs of repairs to this car, simply due to its MB heritage, you'd be nuts not to have a 5-year bumper-to-bumper warranty, 7 if you can get it. You can buy different levels of protection - the best level would cover everything on the car except the usual expendables, like tires/shocks/brake pads/etc.

Shop around, buy the best plan for cash or add it to your note. You'll sleep well.

I used this guy and got the Max Care Warranty.
Nice guy. Will explain everything.
Paid around $1350.

The extended warranty on my coupe already paid for a new supercharger ($6,000). Makes $1350 look real cheap!

I bought a warranty for my 2005 roadster a couple months ago and was lucky enough to get my 2K back because I canceled within 30 days. I canceled it because I got on the internet and researched the warranty company and couldn't believe the unhappy customers they had all over the country. I would recommend you only buy a Chrysler warranty and any other warranty company PLEASE check them out on the internet before you throw your money away. Just my 2 cents.

Cool Re: buying after market warranty

You need to buy a Chrysler MaxCare Extended warranty, and it should be less than 2K. The MaxCare warranty will cover all moving parts of the top it will not cover the canvas top itself.

I just got a lifetime Maxcare on a new 2006 roadster for $1750 (it already came with the lifetime powertrain warranty). Also went for the Chrysler 7 year - 14 oil change maintenance coverage for an additional $700.

Can I throw another question out there? I bought my 04 used in 07 and bought a 3 year warrenty offered by the dealer (chrysler). Im not sure if its the extended chrysler I hear everyone talking about. This warrenty expires in march 10 and Im planing on moving to NH around that time. Would it be wise to pick up another warrenty from a dealer near NH or what?? thanks

I bought a 5 year Max Care Chrysler warranty today from Michael Case with the Ziegler Automotive Group today. Very nice guy answers all questions confidently and beat everyone elses price. He has lots of choices but the Max Care was the one that covered that scary to me top. He is a straight up guy.
Here is his info;

I think it might be worth it. I just dropped a little over 2K at the dealer when my air conditioner system grenaded. I know I am going to look into it myself.

2005 Crossfire Roadster Limited with 40K on it.
