Default I need a REAL CHRYSLER MaxCare POLICY

Who knows of a reliable source. I here many stories but I want the correct policy. Maybe I should call Chrysler. Maybe some has a reliable lead. Ron

I just bought a Chrysler 7 yr, 50000 mile warranty for my SRT roadster. I went to a viable local Jeep/Chrysler Dealer, and talked with the person at the dealer who handles the MaxCare warranties. Worked for me ..... give it a try.

Sounds good will try that next. Would rather buy local. Whats the price and how much deductible? Ron

Hey Ron....It all depends on your cars build date, and your current mileage. If your car is less then 48 months ( I think) from the build date and have less then 48000 on the clock, you will be eligible for the Chrysler Warranty. I just got the 7 yr, 50000 mile coverage for $1900. The 7 years starts from the build date, so in effect I bought coverage for @2.5 yrs! My car only has 17000 miles, and in no way do I expect to put on 33000 miles in 2.5 yrs. I know it sounds exspensive for the 2.5 yrs, but peace of mind in invaluable. I have an SRT, and if the SC goes, or the IC. or the mechanism for the top goes south, those thing alone are mega $$$$. Actually, anything that moves is covered, but be sure to understand just what is excluded when you sign up.
I figure, that after this runs out, I look for a 3rd party warranty, but as long as the car was eligible to get the Maxcare from Chrysler, I definitely went with that. Hope this helps a little. Oh ...by the way, I felt it was important to get a local "viable" Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer that had certified crossfire techs there. I actually talked with a couple of them to verify.
I got the $50 deductible....

wow that sounds high to me !!!! So your giving them 1900 just in case you have a problem in 2 1/2 yrs ??? how often do you drive it & how many miles will you put on it during this 2 1/2 yrs ????

Ever since the partnership with Fiat and the bailout these warranties have jumped back up in price. Back last year when things looked really bleak they were giving them away... Mine was an 8year/80,000mile w/$0ded for $1900. Now this would cost over $3000 easy according to the dealership.

Ask for employee discount at your local dealership. Or use Chrysler extended warranty, Factory backed extended warranties for Dodge, Jeep and Chrysler vehicles lowest price I've found.

I'm confused; from the way I interpret the information on the Chrysler website, the coverage starts on the first day of service (delivery to first owner) and not the build date, for vehicles purchased new, and from the date of the contract for vehicles purchased used. See CSC Frequently Asked Questions

This I think sounds correct. My 2008 Crossfire has 6500 miles and my factory warranty ends September 2010 as it was purchased September 2007. A MaxCare policy for 7 years 50,000 miles if I buy it now starts September 2007 and ends September 2014. I'm really confused but I think this is the deal. I'm searching for a policy now. Ron

I agree, Michael Case was the best deal I could find a few years ago.

I believe you are right in that it is the in-service date, not the production date.
My was put into service in June 2006 and has 11,000 miles on it.
My 8yr/80,000 goes until June 2014 or 80,000miles which ever comes first.

So purchase date of the warranty doesn't matter, only the in-service date.
Most car manufacturers do extended warranties this way. It's the 3rd party warranties that tend to go by the warranty purchase date.

While at the DEALER today he mentioned the Fidelity warranty services plan. He said the dealership had more influence with them and they cover more that the Care Max plan. Any input would be great. Ron

Consumer advocates advise sticking with the manufacturer's extended warranty. The reason that there are so many websites selling Chrysler extended warrantees is that any dealership can.

Just signed up with Mike last week. Put Lifetime Bumper to bumper on the wifes XF.

Very agressive pricing compared to my local dealers. I highly recommend checking him out if your looking for extended warranty pricing.

The lifetime bumper to bumper does not display on the website. You need to call him if that's your option.

The important thing is to get a bumper-to-bumper exclusionary contract - that is, everything is covered except what is specifically excluded.

The disadvantage to the lifetime plan is that it is not transferable if you sell the car, while all other plans are.

Why is that a disadvantage? I guess it would be for the next owner. I could care less.

I didn't buy the warranty for the next owner, I bought it for myself.

You didn't buy the car for the next owner, either.

If and when you decide to sell a car that, let's face it, not many were interested in when it was new, and was produced by a now-failed merger and inherited by a bankrupt enterprise, your being able to offer a transferable warranty will enhance its appeal.

Most people don't keep a car forever; some think about resale value, others couldn't care less. To each his own.
