Talking The Official "Classic Yellow C-R-O-S-S-F-I-R-E s" Rule Thread

Since I have not seen this thread yet, I thought I would start one! Everyone knows the Anniversary Classic Yellow Crossfire Roadster is the best! So, to begin, here are some pics of my ride! All custom work done by myself. Lots of features added. I will make a list later of all the additions.

More pics available in my gallery!

P.S. People have asked, and the answer is yes. This car looks like it came off the showroom floor. Not a ding or scratch and it has 50K miles. Been to Las Vegas and back from Texas twice in it. All original and no major issues with the car so far. Best ride I have ever owned!

I like your interior, and Darth Maul http://www.stargods.org/ClintonDarthMaul.jpg wants your hood.

I like to keep my battery cables handy, so I took some good velcro, wrapped it around the fuse box and put my cables there. They are in a waterproof package, and come in handy for jump starting my friend's cars.

Nice job, now paint that engine cover yellow, and add the same graphic theme to it.

I added lights under the hood, but I still am not sure what I want to do to that cover. I am considering painting or chroming it.

I honestly think the car looks awful, just my opinion , but I think you ruined the car with the graphics. Maybe on a "hot-rod' from the 50's. but not a crossfire!

And the secret is....

ITS ALL VINYL! Yep, I can remove/replace/change it in a few hours. Every year or two I decide to change it. I can strip it all off with a steam gun, buff the paint, and you can't tell it was ever applied.

I have been considering getting rid of the flames, but the true effect I was trying for was to get the car to look less "fat". The car is short and the flames also make it look a bit longer than it actually is.

Everything done to my cars has one distinct focus: Everything MUST be fully removable with no damage to the car. In other words, I can remove anything I have added or modified and make the car "factory" at anytime.

So, I have the first transformer car also! Maybe next month I may change it and repost some new images. I am looking at some racing checkered flag designs I think would look better.

Nexxus,
I think you are on the right track. If you are a yellow roadster guy; that is fine. (Sorry ALabaster). IMHOP the black on the sides is too much- pearl those flames or ghost them like the bikers do.
I really do not have the right to say anything; I'm stock other than a wind restrictor and I love this car. (OOppps Chrome wheels)

See! You can do worse than flames on the sides!

I have the same problem. These cars attract blonds.

I like what you did to your car. Not my taste, but that's what is cool about it. It reflects who you are & what you are about. No one buys a yellow car (of any make) because they are interested in blending into the woodwork! Our yellow XF's are just about the least stealthy cars on the road. Every time I drive mine I get texts from friends saying they just saw me turn at xxx light, etc. Its ok - my daily driver is so common that I have sat at a light with 3 exactly like mine & more that one time I have tried to load my groceries into someone else's CR-V!!!

I created a poll. Lets see how many people vote for me to keep or loose the side flames:
